On our way to Minnesota, Thursday, December 23, 2015, we stopped here for one night's stay. After some confusion as to what room we were assigned, we asked for something quiet where no one was above us. We were reassigned to the third floor far from the elevator. There was signs of renovations in the rooms near us - blue tape around white doors with no security card locks or knobs. We noticed the bed sheets were thin and had seen years of use, but they appeared clean. The next morning, I no
ticed a brown shell (exoskeleton), like a dried flake of blood, of something in the bed but didn't think much of it and flicked it on the floor. I've never seen a bed bug or had any experience with them until now to be suspicious.
The next morning, Friday, December 24, 2015, we packed up and were on our way. Not until we checked into the next hotel that night and undressed to shower did we notice that we both had over 30 angry, raised bites on our bodies, most on our arms and some on our hands and necks. We immediately called the Best Western and informed them that they had a bed bug infestation in our room on the 3rd floor (I think it was room #316). They were to check and call us back, but we still haven't heard from them. We looked online and saw a report of bed bugs at the same hotel in May 11, 2015. If I had seen that review, I wouldn't have booked in this hotel. They obviously didn't fix the problem then and aren't addressing my complaint now.
I get more angry as each day passes and more bites manifest - we're now past 50 bites each everywhere. Again, some internet research informs us that more will continue to manifest this week. We now have everything in garbage bags sitting out on our balcony waiting for several zero degree days to kill the bed bugs on everything that can't go into scalding hot water in the washer and high temps in the dryer. This hotel ruined our Christmas!

Stayed at the Best Western in Portage, WI the night of May 11, 2015. I stay up late when in motels by myself and around 11:30 pm i noticed a moving black speck on the second bed. I killed it and noticed that it smelled. Then found another on the bed. It was kinda clear with a black spot in the middle and it jumped. Then I noticed about three bigger all black bugs on the wall. I killed one with a kleenex and packed up my stuff and went down to the hotel clerk. Showed her the bug I killed.
She put it in a ziploc and said she would have someone take a look into it the next day and gave me a different room. In the first room and the second room I looked between the mattresses and didn't notice any tell-tale signs of an infestation.
