Bed Bug Report for Crowne Plaza Hotel Madison East Towne, Madison, WI

I just recently discovered this site and wanted to write my experience on this hotel. We stayed here July 2012 I believe it was the 17th. These reports are not false there is bed bugs here! When we confronted the manager and staff they were basically implying that we were lying about the whole thing. When we went into our room there were a few maids next to our room that gave us a weird look and looked like they wanted to say something to us but didn't. I didn't really think anything of it. We l

eft and returned to the room later that evening. We had two beds in our room and while I was laying on one of them I saw a small bug crawling towards me and killed it thinking nothing of it. Minutes later there was another one that looked the same and I was starting to itch and noticed a few small bites. I told my boyfriend and he thought I was just being paranoid but when he looked through the bed and sheets he found more bugs. He caught two of them and brought them down to the desk for proof and the staff said they weren't bed bugs and were extremely rude and offered no help at all. We got a refund through hotwire and left immediately. We got a call from the manager the next day and she was saying how we didn't have proof even though we brought the bugs down to the desk. The room was disgusting and the staff didn't care. Luckily we didn't bring the bugs into our home. We put everything in plastic and washed everything thoroughly.

Brought bed bugs home from cleaning rooms that were known to have been treated at the only crowne plaza in Madison Wi. No used beds in my home. Took one week before we began to have bites. No protection while cleaning note was not informed of any information on cleaning or bed bug removal why???? Who is going to pay for removal? No used beds in my home all was new including my sofa!

This isnt a joke or false information this is true i have pictures and my children as well as landlord conform no bugs until the 11/12 brought home on me to infest my home who do i report to?

FYI, I work for a health department. We DO NOT inspect rooms for bed bugs UNLESS we receive the complaint. Our inspections are only 20% effective in finding them since they are smaller than an appleseed and difficult to find unless there is a large infestation. Your best bet regardless of the hotel is to educate yourself and make good informed decisions on where you stay and/or what you look for when you check in.

THIS WEBSITE IS PROMOTING FALSE INFORMATION THAT DOES NOT EXIST. CALL THE COUNTY HEALTH DEPT OF THE HOTEL YOU ARE STAYING AT TO CONFIRM IF ANY BED BUGS EXIST BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY DECISION. I WILL BE REPORTING THIS WEBSITE TO THE FCC AND FTC SINCE THE WEBMASTER DOES NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS NOR DOES HE OR SHE PROVIDE A PHONE NUMBER TO PROTEST A SUBMISSION.

Friday, August 12 2011 - we were staying in room 116. Roommate woke up and saw two bugs on the pillow, and then found another four later.

Informed the front desk; they apologized and issued a refund.

We went to the Crowne Plaza on Saturday November 20th, 2010. When we got to the room we saw a little bug on the bed and lifted up the mattress and found two bed bugs on there. We went to the front desk to tell them about it and they said they would check it out but they said they didn't see anything. They also gave us no refund for the hotel when we left. Room 246.
