the Dr didn't even know what was causing it and assumed it was an allergic reaction to something. Then all 4 of us started to develop the same bites. I found information online and shortly after we found our first bedbug. I notified our building manager and when I didn't hear back from them I contacted the company. They told me our building managers would handle it and later that week they showed up at my door with a couple cans of RAID. I was pissed and started talking to the other tenants in the building. One older woman who lived on the top floor said she had reported a problem to management more than a year before I did. I discovered that there was more than 5 tenants who had bedbugs. I strongly suspect the laundry room was a source of potential infection as our clothes dryers didn't work very well and our water was never truly hot.

I had to continue living there because I didn't have the money to move. Four months later the building was sold to a contractor company to make condo conversions. I was served with an eviction notice and I left.

I feel due to ignorance and lack of education about bedbugs has led to people turning a blind eye to a huge problem. I left threw out everything my children and I owned for fear of spreading them to a new home. I can not begin to express the psychological effect it has had on our family. I have become extremely paranoid and terrified about bedbugs and having another infestation. I lost my belongings, had the cost of finding a new place to live, we lived for months sleeping on the floor of our new apartment because I couldn't afford a new bed,bedding,table,chairs,sofa etc. not to mention the toys my kids had.

Needless to say I despise the ignorance of People, and their unwillingness to DO something about this growing problem and potential health risk MORE than the actual bugs.
