t personal Framed art pieces due to bugs embedding in the wood. Had to throw out the couch, Draperies, that belonged to the apartment. Also had to throw out my bed I bought last year when I moved into this apartment. Bought a new one with 4 legs. Now each leg is covered with vaseline jelly, and small plastic containers are under each leg with rubbing alcohol in each. I refill them every two days.
After being sprayed found out the owners have known of a bed bug problem within this building, some going as far back as 6 years ago. Now it's all over this building. There are 10 or more vacancies in this building. They are telling no one of the problem when they move in. It has been a nightmare! I washed all of my belongings, clothing, bed linens, etc., thrown out personal belongings which felt was possibly infested.
They need to pass laws that force owners to inform new tenants of the problem. I feel cheated and taken for granted. I have never encountered a problem like this before. I have lost sleep, affected my nerves, and have not extended an invitation to anyone to visit me at my apartment, can't have any dinners, is this a way to live? I'm self-employed, I have to be extremely careful not to spread this problem to my customers home!
