We found bedbugs on the futon and the bedrooms. Landlord refuses to pay first. We brought them to Landlord and Tenants board and they had to fumigate. After we got the hell out of there. 1441 Lawrence avenue east

I had bedbugs in 2006 and I cannot explain how stressful this was. I camped out on my couch for two weeks while I waited for fumigation. Using these harsh chemicals does neurological damage, I'm sure, and I don't like using them.
However, I found a way to keep them away from me - I wrapped my box spring (that sits on the floor) in old plastic shower curtains. Bedbugs can't climb up slick plastic, so even though they're in the building, they can't get to me.
I know of two other tenants on my floor that have them + one more on another floor. It's a horrible experience.

Bedbugs had infested the whole building and Tenants were not informed. It could possibly be due to the Tenant who lived in the building who had pigeons for pets or the crack dealer on the 3rd floor who let the crack heads in the building to sell them drugs. This was in November 2005, but the bugs were still there inMarch 2006. Address 138 Wellesley Street East Toronto, Ontario

Its disgusting. I just moved into a one bedroom apartment last week, and after unpacking and trying to settle in, i find the place to be infested with bed bugs. big adults, little transparent ones. they are all over the apartment. I told the landlord, and she said she will call someone to treat it. She said she has never seen them before and that they werent there before (which is a complete lie, after speaking with another tenant in the same apartment), she even tried convincing me that they werent bed bugs. the next day, she got a family friend to come by with an aerosol insecticide and started spraying around the base boards and my matress. its now been a few days later and i still see them around even the baby ones. I think this should require the treatment from professionals, the more time that passes the more i think my possessions are being infested. I havent even slept a night in my own apartment yet because of this reason. Who can i contact and what can i do about this situation ? Isnt it the landlords responsibility to rid these parasites?
any feedback would be appreciated.
thanks
mike

It probably has to due with all the pigeons nesting on people's balcony's. They should make pigeon netting mandatory.... some of them are quite disgusting
