I remember reading somewhere that it is against the law to withold information regarding bedbug infestation to a new tenant before a lease is signed. I think I read it on this site when I was moving last summer, so I am not sure if its true, but its worth looking into.

I moved in a little over a year ago and I remember getting these weird bites all over my upper body but I never put 2 + 2 together until now.

It lasted several months then gradually the bites disappeared over time. I'm not sure if they were bed bugs or not, but it was definitely related to this building. Bugs of some sort! It freaks me out to even think about it, ugh.

Hey Anonymous,

Take it from me and get out while you can! The building is a dump, the walls are incredibly paper thin and I can honestly say that moving out of 305 Metcalfe was the happiest day of my life.

Bed bugs? CHECK!
Paper thin walls? CHECK!
Sketchy elevator? CHECK!

Avoid this building like the plague or like it has bed bugs... oh wait? :(

Mid-November 2008, and unit 207 is *still* infested! Resident did not report infestation for treatment when unit was considered treated & bug-free. Treatment given, and landlord promising to enter monthly for inspection/treatment until satisfied is eradicated. Very concerned to live with this tenant in the building, and landlord needs to consider eviction of tenant for non-cooperative behaviour that is infringing on the other tenants quality of life in the building. We are watching very carefull

I lived on the upper units of this building, and within one month of moving in, my apartment was filled with bedbugs. It apparently had already made the jump to my floor when I moved in. The landlords said the exterminators would take care of it. I found that hard to believe, and I had to throw everything out and move out. I see from the above posting that, a year later, the problem has only spread even further.

This infestation started in the upper floors in the fall of 2006, and was thought to have been treated & under control. Unfortunately, the second wave of infestation was found on the other side of the building in February 2007 on the second floor & migrated up the interior walls to the third & fourth floors by late summer of 2007. By October 2007, three floors were involved with 4 units reporting serious infestation issues. The landlord went as far as to threaten eviction to tenants who did not

Some other tenants posted notices inside the building warning of bed bugs. The next morning, some weird red bumps on my arms made me put two and two together...looked at the seam of my mattress and there they were!

Totally disgusting.

Exterminator scheduled to come in on Monday.
