My Fiance and I moved in to a 4th floor apartment in August. We were not told of about any problems with bed bugs. I did clean everything and re-cock everything right away. We keep our apartment super clean.
Two nights ago we noticed a bug near our bed and looked it up and its a bed bug. I also have a few bites on my body.
We called the manager and our apartment is being sprayed today but I dont know if it will get rid of the problem.
The bugs must have come from a different apartment .
I feel like the whole building needs to be fumigated.

Landlord/super never advised about the bed bugs or infestations. Lived here for only a month on the second floor, became infested with bed bugs within 10 days of moving in. Was about to break 1 year lease due to the buildings history and constant infestation problems. Lost all of our furniture and most of our belongings, only took our clothes that we could wash when we moved. The super was ignorant, unhelpful, and rude, the people that live in the building are mostly on disability or subsidized
, hookers hang out front, there is an abundance of half way houses in the area, a lot of dirty apartments and unclean people. Avoid like the plague! Heard that all the building on Tyndall have bedbug problems.

Has the bed bug problem been taken care of? Especially on the seventh floor?

August 12/2015 Put money down on an apartment on the 6th floor, was told it can't be rented because it's infested with bed bugs. Nice to know at least stay away.
Anonymous on 02/21/2015
There is currently an infestation on the seventh floor.
It seems the problem is spreading from 721 (closest to the stairs/the one with the boarded-up windows and balcony 100% full of stuff). Blocking treatment (DE dust around the baseboards) was done February 20 on the nearby apartments on floors six through eight. First round of extermination treatment will be February 26.
719's bed frame was infested. It was against the wall shared with 721.
The building has new management since Decem
ber. They seem to genuinely want to help, but the building is in very poor condition (cockroaches, bedbugs, etc.) They claim they were misled by the building owners (Metcap Living) when they were hired.
If the company lies to the staff they hire to manage the building, how can we expect them to help?
Please be sure to immediately report any issues to the office. They can't do anything if they don't know.

Worst place ever!!! Bedbugs, mice, cockroaches.
It is true, no mater how clean you are this sh*t is everywhere. We had pest control 5 times in one year. Look for another place nor in this area.

Infested with bed bugs, and, as has been stated many times, there are many other problems (such as the drug addicts). Horrible place. Don't live here.

As stated above.
Roaches. Crack heads, druggies.
Incompetent managers and supers
If you have anything of value including your pride do not rent from this company or any others that follow in this building.
I would love to stick it to this management company.

2008-2012: Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested in being involved or have been involved in a lawsuit against METCAP. Can be totally confidential if you wish to submit anonymously for legal or privacy purposes. -- Moved in after agreeing fixes would be made to my unit including putting a lock/securing my mailbox. Nothing was done until I (unrelated) became late on a payment and they threatened eviction. We went to court and I appropriately told the judge I had no proble
m making payments and while I am here would like to address these various concerns. The holes in walls, 1-3 visible mice per day, leaks, mold, bed bugs and other insects, and very much infested by roaches. Very clean and orderly person. Roaches were not even able to get in to my secured food. They were eating the disgusting walls! Anyway, after various attempts to resolve the issues in court nothing was done and I stopped making rent payments. I was evicted and left in peace. (PS: Supers when I moved in before and the newer ones when I left were very sweet and accommodating -- issues are not with them. Fixes to the building are matters that must be approved by the LANDLORD/metcap company! They do the best they can but I imagine it is hard to keep up with the dump.) Regardless, I am now being sued for arrears and wish to countersue. Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested in being involved or have been involved in a lawsuit against METCAP. Can be totally confidential if you wish to submit anonymously for legal or privacy purposes. PS - In addition to the bugs, roaches, MICE -- you will hear the residents frequently screaming, breaking things. Additionally, I was calling 911 on a monthly basis (in the last few months, very often) because of hearing threats throughout the building, residents stabbing each other in lobby and halls, drunks/druggies stumbling through halls. It is sad that as a single mother or student/youth who has no family etc has this as their option without going on welfare. I know people on welfare who pay 115$ (geared to income housing) to live in luxury compared to this and you will be paying 900+... Not safe for families.

I lived here for 4 years. I was evicted a couple of weeks ago because we decided that it was not worth paying rent to a building that had stripped us of all our valuables, both of sentimental and of monetary value."Into the wilderness" and "world of rodents and parasites" were the endearing names we gave to our apartment. "To Serve And Protect" and "Trainspotting" were the shows and movies that are reminiscent of the building's environment.
Sleeping under a bridge in a blizzard has been a mo
re enjoyable experience.

This building has certainly gone down hill over the years. I have been here for almost 5 years, and only in the past year have I experienced cockroaches and just recently bed bugs. People bringing in furniture from the curb, kicking bug infested furniture in the hallways is not helping!
I say have the place exterminated for yourself and then MOVE OUT!

My boyfriend lives in this building on the 4th floor. Moved in October 2009
The first 7-8 months were fine. Never noticed any bugs, or bug bites. At the beginning of summer a tenant mentioned in the elevator that the entire 2nd floor was infested.
Now, the past 2 months have been hell! I never want to stay over anymore because I am constantly waking up with more & more bites. It's so itchy and there is nothing I can do to make it stop.
Met Cap has the laziest most incompetent building man
agers employed at this building. They do nothing about the mice, roaches, or leaky ceilings. There is no hope in getting them to take care of the bed bug problem.
Please, if you have other options, any other options, DO NOT MOVE INTO 135 TYNDALL.

Bedbugs in this building.

We rented an apartment on the 7th floor during 8 months in 2009. It was awful. Infected with bed bugs, without a doubt.
Anonymous on 10/05/2009
The whole building is infested. Do not rent there!
