I have lived here for nearly 2 years. My floor has bedbugs and I asked the new landlords (who took over in August/September of this year) to take the preventative measures outlined by the City of Toronto (see http://www.toronto.ca/health/bedbugs/bedbugs_landlords_propertymanagers.htm point #5) to try to prevent the bugs from spreading to my apartment. One of my neighbours had bed bugs and they did not treat the next door units and so the bedbugs moved into nearby units. When I told the staff (in

cluding the Superintendent) that there are bed bugs across the hall from me I was told that, "bed bugs do not move across hallways, they only go through plumbing and electrical lines. If you get them, you get them." As this is not true, I put in a work order request for caulking around my doors and floor boards, expandable foam around plumbing lines, and a few other preventative measures about a month ago and they still have not come.
Quite frankly, I would not move into the building. It looks fancy because of the upgrades and the rent prices that have gone up by $130 dollars since I moved in but it is worse. The landlords are slumlords (in more ways than just bedbugs) and I will be moving out as soon as possible.

For the past 2.5 years I had not ONE single bedbug or any bug at ALL!
They had a Bed Bug sniffing dog come into my unit and I was told I was ok and the dog detected ZERO bedbugs. NOW I have gross amount of bedbugs that infested in my BED!

THEY PROMISED ME THAT THEY'RE TAKING PREVENTATIVE MEASURES TO MAKE SURE THERE ISN'T A PROBLEM! I WAS PEREFECTLY OK UNTIL THIS GOD DAMN FLEA BAG CAME INTO MY PLACE!

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! THEY SAY THEIR DOING RENOVATIONS BUT WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THE BEDB

UGS ARE SCATTERING TO OTHER UNITS AS QUICKLY AS THEIR EGGS ARE HATCHING! YES F'N HATCHING!

THIS IS AN OLD BUILDING AND THE PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE TO GROW! ALSO I FOUND A DEAD BED BUG UNDER THE BATHROOM SINK!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME! FML

To "lies, lies, lies"...we have completed canine inspections throughout the building and treated all units that were noted as having a bed bug problem. We took our approach one step further and did a preventative treatment for bed bugs (and other pests) in every single unit. On behalf of the landlord, we're dedicated to ensuring our tenants live in a pest-free environment. Please contact your Property Manager or Superintendent if you are experiencing problems.

Moved in very recently. Was told zero bugs. Then receive notice of pest control. Am promised its precautionary though the previous tenant did have a problem. Which earlier they said was not so. Then today. Found bugs. Have been here two weeks. Believe this will most likely result in horrific trust issues. DON'T MOVE HERE

I have lived in this building for over a year on the first floor of 798. This place has just gone through a new management company. They have taken some proactive steps... like bed bud sniffing dogs lol to try to isolate or find a problem. I know some riff raff still lives in the building as the place use to be really cheap maybe 5 or 10 years ago and they are still holding out. With that said I have never really had a problem with anything and the new management company seems on top of things.

Looking to move into this building? Any more recent encounters? Foreversingle did you get the problem fixed in your place? Any info would be great, thank you!

forever single, it's very important to tell building management about your problem. They WILL fix it. They're obligated by law to keep your unit free of pests. It won't cost you anything.

I am also renting in this building but haven't had any problem. Did your problem get fixed "foreversingle?" Did you tell the landlord? Did they do something about it?

Thank you
Laurence

Started getting bites around July 2012, and just realized I have bed bugs in August. They seem to be coming in through a crack in the baseboard.

5th floor.

MY LIFE IS OVER I AM NO LONGER A SEXY BACHELOR CAUSE MY BED IS RIDDEN WITH BUGS

I experience a bed bug problem on the 4th floor of this apt building...I can tell my nieghbours did also as there was diatomaceous earth sprinkled on thier door step in the hall way. I was bitten every night for 6 months until I moved out.

I pray that no one else ever has to experience this.
