A tenant at 180 -
Upon signing the lease I was told that at the first sign of any bug, to contact the office so they could get ahold of pest control. I saw a bug and didn't realize it was a bedbug. I didn't report what I saw. Eventually realized what it was when I killed one against the wall, it left a bright red blood smudge. I reported it to the office and they called pest control immediately. They came, and sprayed, they are coming again as a matter of protocol. Bed bugs are not brought to
180 by the landlords or management. People and pets bring them in. The landlords and management have taken the necessary precautions and act immediately to rectify when they are informed. If you see a bug, report it. Prepare your unit as instructed. Do not expect the impossible from your landlord or management. Only you know what is in your apartment. Reporting is the first step. Understand that regardless of how bedbugs got here... to toronto... to 180... they are here to stay (in my opinion). If you leave your unit, you can get them, if someone comes to your unit, you can get them, if you bring anything from outside into your unit, you can get them. You can be the cleanest person and have an empty apartment, you can get them. Bedbugs do not discriminate in any way. The solution is --> report--> treat--> monitor --> treat. It is ridiculous to think that having bedbugs is a reason to not pay rent. It is ridiculous to suggest that only St.Clares has an issue with bedbugs. Did you read what is happening in Montreal ? BedBug EPIDEMIC. Did you count the other buildings in this neighbourhood alone also combating this problem ? We do not live in a bubble. ---- living at 180... unhappy I got bedbugs --- happy my landlord and management sprang into action to rectify.
