A bedbug outbreak occurred the week of Oct.13 in the 9th floor offices of Health Canada (i.e. Canada's Department of Health). It is not known how the infestation started. Staff on the floor were sent home, and building management carried out carpet cleaning. The following week Health Canada management sent out an e-mail ensuring employees that the bedbugs had been eradicated, however on the morning of Oct.22 employees of Health Canada were sent home because the bedbugs had spread to all floors 8
