Bug free for 6 months now! Remaining ever vigilant...

We moved in a couple of years ago and had friends in other lofts who had to get sprayed but we didn't have a problem untill two months ago. We were sprayed twice and it didn't help, after throwing out our bedroom furniture, bed, boxsprings and three sofas we were sprayed again and it looks like it has worked, we are getting a follow up spraying again and I hope that is the end of it. Our landlords and very lazy caretaker of the building have helped with the spreading of the bugs. to date we know of 6 lofts that have had a problem here. Because our landlords don't care the problem will not go away, they have kept very quiet about the bugs and you only find out from other people in the building or by finding them in your place. This building is below code with no airflow in the lofts, black mold and damp and of course the bugs, health and saftey would have a feild day here.

We had bedbugs in our unit on the 4rth floor in February 2008. One fumigation and one month of obsessive steaming and vacuuming got rid of them, only 2 corpses were found.
As of May 2008, there are several other units on the 4rth floor with bedbugs, and many tenants are moving out. Have heard through the grapevine that the bugs are even worse on the 3rd floor. People moving out leave their buggy junk in the hall. My unit has been bug free for 3 months but I picked one up on my shoe in the hall and have had to pre-emptively start steaming and vacuuming again.
They just painted all the halls and stairwells. I wish they had spent the money on debugging the whole building at once. The walls are all wood so keeping your unit quarantined is impossible.
Makes me very sad, because I love everything else about my studio very much!

From approximately June 2007 until September 2007, 90 Ontario St. was entirely infested with bed bugs. The landlord refused to fumegate the entire building at one time, focusing on one suite at a time, giving the bugs the option of moving from suite to suite with out harm. My own suite was fumegated 2ce before the bugs ceased to bother us near the end of september, tho there were several reports from the neighbours of the bugs returning to many other levels and suites in the building. I have since left the building but last heard of complaints about the bugs as late as December 2007.
