No bedbugs, but the building can't shake a really bad cockroach infestation. It has persisted since I moved here in Fall 2011.
They are coming up the pipes, and from behind the cupboards. They now come out of the toaster and slowcooker when they are warming up. Its disgusting. After living here for 3 years I'm ready to leave.

Did you know that cockroaches leave a distinct smell? I didn't know until I moved to 191 Sherbourne.

I actually came on this site before moving in and there was a lot of back and forth comments. I figured "Hey! My girlfriend and I are clean, tidy people. Obviously the people who are having issues just need to be more tidy." WRONG! I have talked to people in this building and some only get a few here and there while others are struggling like we are. It really is just a roll of the dice.

A

fter we noticed (within the first week) that we had a problem and not just a few here and there I went into mission mode. I decided to chalk all possible opens I could find. After going through three tubes the job still wasn't done. The building has more issues than one might see on first impression. They also like coming up through the pipes. Kind of hard to battle that one.

I've set up traps and lined the walls with boric acid. Yep I know only see around twenty a day now and that is actually a success on my part.

They like to randomly put on peoples doors that they have a 48 hour notice to remove there pets from the suite as well as remove everything from their cupboards, shelves, medicine cabinets and the bottom of all closets so that they can spray. In other words pack up all your belongings and put them in the middle of the room and hope you can find a pet sitter in 48 hours. But hey who am I to complain. The spray does a great job. It irritates all the roaches to come out of their dens (in the walls) and take over your apartment for a week. Funny I never find any dead ones in the after math.

Last time they put up a notice we said we didn't want them to come because we couldn't find a pet sitter and also our treatment works better than theirs. They said no problem and crossed us off the list. HEY something actually went well around here. Then we came home tonight to another note saying this was our third and final warning and that we had refused them access and that they were unable to get in due to having us putting a dead bolt on, which we haven't. Say hey wonderful organization. But at least it's easy to get a hold of the supers when there is an issue like this because the office is open from 9-5. Unfortunately my girlfriend and I are like everyone else and you know, are at work during those hours. So if you don't have a full time job at least that can work in your favour.

Lets see now that we have covered the bug issue lets talk about their positives.

Do you like working out at the gym without ever leaving the building? Then you are in luck because as you may have seen on their web site they have a gym here. Yep a broken bench, a barbell and some mismatched weights that are decaying. ENJOY!

Like swimming? They have a pool! It's piss warm in the summer but don't worry it's out of order 50% of the time.

Do you like taking the stairs? I know I prefer it seeing as every time the elevator swings around making awful noises threatening to drop me to the sub floor all I can door is look at the expired licence on the wall.

The neighbourhood is great though. Our neighbour highrise "The Moss Park Apartments" has this wonderful fire alarm that sounds like a warning alarm that the world is ending. Not too bad though it only goes off maybe once a week and stays on for an hour+. Although it is nice having that many cops show up. Makes us feel safe seeing as each corner of this neighbourhood comes with not one but at least TWO crackheads.

All in all, don't move here. Yes the rent is cheap but the cost of tiring bullshit that comes with it is through the roof. We are just waiting for our prison sentence... I mean lease to be over and then we are out of here. The only solution to this place is a demolition team.

I have been asked to provide all identification you can mention when i sigh the lease. It is funny i was asked date airport entry to Canada,What languages i speak, race, org ion(country). They have taken copy of my social insurance number,ID,letter of employment, two references.I was shocked providing them all this private and confidential documents.I provided all those documents and paid first and last month.I have been given date to move to the apartment. The funny thing is after one week when i ca

ll back to check if the apartment is ready ,their response was shocking.I been told there is no more vacant apartment.I wasted two days just calling and complaining the head office. Finally they decided to give me the unit.
The building is full of bedbugs and cock roaches.
I have been here more three month and i don't know what to do.This against health and safety act.The building owner is aware of the situation but according to my understanding they don't want to spend money.
So please don't even think to move to this building, other wise you will suffer like me.

I was in apt 101. I had bed bugs in Sept...a small problem but after one spray I had no new bites.

My partner and I moved in at 191 Sherbourne in August 2010. We looked at MANY apartments before we chose this one. Honestly the apartment is spacious, has large windows, large private balcony, and the view we have of downtown is honestly breathtaking.

The buidling is being maintained well, new lights in hallways, hallways are all freshly painted, and they are currently replacing the carpets in the building.

We pay such low rent, we have a 1 bedroom with garage parking, all utilities incl

uded for $1,100 a month. Try finding that in any other building which is in walking distance to the Eaton Center!!

The corner the building is on is quite sketchy. There are many homeless in the area. The good news is that if you walk one block west it is safe. The elevators are a problem, they are old and break down often.

I have seen cockroaches in the laundry room, but only have ever found 1 cockroach in our apartment. No sign of bedbugs.

We are still always looking at other buildings but nothing comes close to this one. Looks like we will be here for a while...

Any recent news about this place? Thinking about moving in...

I lived in a west facing unit on the 15th floor from jan 2011 to Nov 2011. The unit I moved in had a great view and my husband and I thought it was a little paradise until the summer came.

I have heard neighbouring units have/had bed bugs.

But for us its not bed bugs, but tons of roaches. At the beginning I thought it was just one or two, and we wonder where they came from as we never cook in the kitchen. These roaches migrate from the hallway, toilet, kitchen sink and any possible small w

hole they find ways into your home.

I made management sprayed so many time and it has no help at all. Fortunately we got to move out of the building and terminate the least earlier, but we left so many furniture behind. I remember seeing a nest of roaches under the dinning table and until now I still have nightmares about that...

Gd luck to all of you. Kitchen catcher does help. You can find them in canadian tires. Its funny the ones in downtown always sold out too.

I was there 2 months and didnt see any problems but maybe it was a small sample size,

BUT,

Wanted to comment how hilarious it is that 'Bruce and Britney' (or was it Ahmed and Ayesha) complains about ethnic comments about their MidEast background and hostility from a black woman.. then they themselves talk about 'dirty Indians and Pakistanis and their bugs'.

Buddy, as a white man here is a word of caution for you: we can't TELL the difference tween an Arab, an Iranian, or a Pakistani. As

a MidEastern you may think you are better than Indian or Paki but really, you all look the same to us and we look down on YOU as much as them.

me and my wife tried to see an apartment here at 191 sherbourne st, and now that im reading all these complaints about the management and dirty indian and pakistani people that live here who believe "its good luck to have bugs in your house" and refuse to get their apartment sprayed, forcing the rest of the building to suffer for their dirty living style...im glad that it did not work out for us to rent here, we were looking for a one bedroom, and as soon as we walked in the office we were treat

ed badly, and every question that was asked of us was asked in a rude manner and with rage in her eyes, as if shes talking to her enemy, she would make vague comments that offended my wife over and over about ethnicity and our connection and so on, i dont know if its because im middle eastern and she is black, but i can tell for sure she is one racist bastard, and miserable in life, im surely glad that we were treated so badly on the interview day, at least i didnt have to live there and suffer like these people...

My boyfriend an I are about to move into this place on September 1. There was absolutely no mention of bedbugs or roaches. Any tips on what to do! We have just bought all new things to go into our apartment but I do not want all my money to go down the drain because of this infestation!!!

The lazy management never even showed up even after repeated reports of bed bugs and even other bugs (kind of cockroaches) in the whole house. We have now realized that we have a gazillion of these pests roaming in our house.... and we cant even break the lease. They came once and sprayed sm filthy pest control thing just like u sprinkle of drops of water.
It was of no use. Their management is the worst ever I have seen in my life.
It is also the rudest of all. Not at all co-operative or hel

ping. If we have some enquiry too, they attend to us in the rudest way ever.

Bed bugs as of July 2011 everywhere. Everyone I talked to has problems with them. The whole building is infected and management isn't moving(probably too expensive for them)

Aside from that, it's one of the worst buildings to live in Toronto. Management was changed a few years ago and things went downhill from that point. I am moving out end of the month and leaving all the furniture there. Can't risk bringing bed bugs into my condo!

The worst Building you can live in.....living at the Salvation Army next door would be more comfortable I guess.... The entire building is infested with bugs, drug pedlars .... there have already been 4 people murdered and countless incidents involving assault.. The cops are here almost every single day!!! Neither you are saved from the bugs or the criminals!!! Do not even bother coming down to view this place... The management sucks ... the worst experiences living in Toronto at this building..

I am currently living at 191 sherbourne. My partner and I have been getting bit for about a month. His bites look much worse than mine though, my bites barely showed up. After doing some investigation we noticed our boxspring was infested. This was shocking because I have always been a very clean person! We immediately went to a superstore and bought a hand held steamer, two mattress covers (one for mattress and one for boxspring), as well as many large totes to seal away our

clothes. We steamed our mattress, boxspring, furniture, walls, closet, and did a very thurough job. We must have killed at least 50. As disgusting as it was, we knew it had to be done... What I am not understanding is why so many people on here are upset with the pest control services and building management. Why in the world would you wait a week for the pest control service to kill them?!? These are hard to get rid of and you MUST take matters into your own hands! It is impossible for the pest control services to get everywhere in your bedroom... it takes hours and hours of steaming everything as well as washing all of your fabrics (bed linens, clothing, drapery). We believe to have gotten rid of them for now. Everyone should stop blaming the building management is not going to help anything. It is not their fault! Simply go tell them whats going on, they will even supply you with calking to calk all the cracks in your apartment. If you look on the map of reported bed bugs in Toronto you will see they are CITY WIDE, its not a unique problem to this building...

I lived in this building in the mid 80's with the same problem. I had #706 and then moved to #715 with the same problem! They sprayed every few months, but they always came back! One of the exterminators told me that to get rid of all the bugs, one had to spray the entire building all at the same time. I went to the management, called Centrepoint at the time and they simply told me that there were Indian and Pakistani tennants who lived in the building who wouldn't allow spraying, because to hav

e bugs in your home was good luck. How lame is that!! It's a shame really, because otherwise, the building was really nice to live in and the swimming pool/ whirlpool and the convenience store in the tunnel which was great when you didn't feel like going out on a cold and snowy Sunday, but wanted a paper and a quart of milk. Kick their butts guys, I'm on your side!!

I signed my lease for March 1 and not a word was spoken of a pest problem in the building. The second day I was in my apartment (12th floor) there was a notice that they would be doing a cautionary spray for bedbugs and roaches.
I have seen at least one LIVE roach in my apartment every single day since moving and have bites all over, including my face, from the bedbugs and other insects that seem to thrive in my room. I own no soft furniture and am holding off on having my brand ne

w bed delivered until they can fix the problem.
Management does not seem to take this seriously and although I have found roaches throughout my apartment- bedroom as well- they will only spray the kitchen and bathroom.
I have been told its still too early to go to the Tennent Board, but I want out of this sorry excuse for an apartment!

Yes,..Its true..I have faced the Bed bug problem for few months..then after extensive cleaning and pest control they somehow seem to have left our apartment .BUT there is a never ending problem of cockroaches which continues...We have had atleast 8 pest control for the roaches in last 8 months..and they simply seem to be unaffected...
The building manager is very rude ...

Problems with MetCaf or the Management at 191 Sherbourne?

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS, TAKE LEGAL ACTION - YOU WILL BE COMPENSATED

I had a horrible problem with the lazy management, their building standards, and pest control efforts. I took the following steps and RECIEVED OVER $3000.00 IN COMPENSATION. More importantly, they started taking my pest control problem seriously and now I live stress and bug free.

Take the following steps and help turn this problem building around (there is almost no

cost BTW):

1a – Check out www.toronto.ca In the search box on their home page type “191 Sherbourne” A list of articles will appear. Look for the BMS report (it’s 2nd on the list at this time of printing).

This is a 10 page audit showing specifically how the Property Management has failed to maintain the building. Print off this report for reference.

1b – If you have not already made a request to Managment or do not have documentation- then now is the time. Give them notice for repair (pick something from the above mentioned audit), or pest control and wait for them to provide poor or no service (this includes the cheap, unreliable ‘Magic Pest Control’ company they use).

Keep a copy of everything you send them, keep a log (date, time, what happened) of all your communications with them too.

WHEN THEY FAIL TO MEET YOUR REQUEST OR YOU STILL HAVE BITES AFTER AT LEAST ONE PEST CONTROL VISIT...

2 – Go to www.ltb.gov.on.ca Click on English – then on the left hand side click on Tenant Applications (under “FORMS”). There are 2 forms to fill out here. Either T1, Tenant Application for a Rebate, or T6, Tenant Application about Maintenance. Fill out the forms detailing how they have failed and ask for compensation (ask big, the judge will only lower it if they think it is too high).

I asked for a 50% rebate for every month I’ve had bugs and service issues. Make sure to include any costs of missed work, and detail the costs of items you have purchased or had to replace due to their failed service.

2a –File your forms in person. The nearest office is here:

Toronto South Regional Office
79 St. Clair Avenue East, Suite 212

There will be a small fee (about $40.00 if I remember correctly), this will be paid back when the judge rules in your favour.

3 – Going to the tribunal... Show up with patience and evidence. This includes letters from work, pictures of bed bug bites, receipts from items purchased (bug spray, cocking, double sided tape, mattress covers) and proof of costs for items you will get to replace bedding, furniture and so on.

The more evidence you bring the more compensation you will receive. There is no need to bring a lawyer, The judges I met are very reasonable and take the time to explain everything.
Keep the arguments simple and remember the Judge is ultimately on your side.

The Tribunal has a history of standing up for Tenants rights, it is their job to hold Property Management responsible for poor service. The Managment at 191 Sherbourne is lazy and will take advantage of you. You must stand up for yourself and you will get the compensation you deserve.

4 – Wait a few weeks for the ruling. The worst that will happen is you are out the registration fee and an afternoon in court. I’ve talked to a number of people at the Tribunal and Judges very rarely rule in favour of the Landlord.

It is unfortunate that MetCalf has such low standards. 191 has great potential and it is up to us to take action, your efforts will be worth it – my rent was reduced by almost half over a six month period.

Good luck and make sure to keep checking back to hear other success stories.

Here's some more evidence on how "hard" management works here

http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2010/sz/agendas/2010-10-28-sz43-ai.htm

I used to live here and yes, bedbugs are here, you'll probably never get rid of them and here's why:

Management
I don't know why so many people here stick up for 191 Sherbourne’s Management, their awful, it takes a long time to get anything done and quite frankly they don't care. I can understand that manage may need a day or two to get back to you but there’s no reason it should take 5+ days to respond (hey, it’s not like their cleaning the building or fixing the elevators). Avoiding

bedbugs shouldn't be like "working out", bedbugs are not a way of life. don't just take it and say "well, its a big place, i'm sure management has their hands full, i'll just spend time and money trying to take care of them myself" you pay to live there, its their property, its their responsibility that pest control is taken seriously.

People:
I remember when my lease ended here (it was one of the happiest days of my life) I threw out EVERYTHING, there was no way I was risking a re-infestation. Yet, as I brought down stuff to throw out I noticed people where taking my stuff back up to their units. DONT TAKE USED ITEMS SITTING IN THE GARBAGE HOME! You are risking infecting yourself, and infecting the floor you live in.

Until Management and the city do a better job informing people about bedbugs, there here to stay, keep harassing management until it gets fixed, no matter how annoyed Yuri gets at you.

Bed bugs are all over Toronto, to protect yourself we can not rely on staff here at 191 we have to take the proper interventions. Just like exercising to stay healthy. The management and staff at 191 Sherbourne are excellent, 191 is a large complex, there is no way that any one could respond to all the residents within a weeks notice. I have been here three years and yes I know there are bedbugs. Stating not to rent is not a resolution to any problem.

If we all work together we can elim

inate the bedbug infestation. We can not put blame on the management, we all see them working day and night to help us.

Tips to protect yourself:

1) buy insect interceptor trade name (CLIMBUP)they simply fit under your bedpost which touch the floor there is an outer ring which catches the bedbugs trying to climb up into your bed. then an inner ring that catches the bedbugs leaving your bed. the interceptor is coated with talc, in which the bedbugs can not escape they eventually die of dehydration. CLIMBUPs protect you and help you monitor if you do have bedbugs. I the CLIMBUP and I know I do not have bedbugs.
2) get rid of anything that touches the floor from your bed, they climb up, keep your bed away from the wall. basically do not let your bed have any contact to the wall or floor.
3) get rid of clutter they spend most of their lives hiding and feed every week and a half.
4) if you do not want to buy the CLIMBUP coat your bedposts with Vaseline they can not climb up and get stuck, I used this technique until I found out about the interceptors.

Secondly living downtown we will all see bums, prostitutes, and crackheads, that is the decisions we make to live downtown.

I know the management here are busy and at times people may feel neglected, however, we have to realize there is only so many of them and hundreds of us. We have to take responsibility into our own hands, and collaborate with management just not sit back and complain about them.

We all have to work together and not blame others.

The management team in my opinion is exceptional

I live on the 17th floor and I started getting bit at the end of July 2010.

At first, I thought a spider was biting me as I have been living in this building for years and never got bit by anything. After about the 5th bite, a friend suggested that it may be bed bugs.

I immediately went online to do my research and after searching up an down we only found 1 bed bug!

Seeing that I do not trust any of the management staff in this building with getting anything done, I proceed

ed to my local pest control and bought the heavy duty spray for bed bugs, I then treated it again 2 weeks later.
after about a month I started to get bit again so again I treated it and again 2 weeks later.....

We went about a month again with no bites, then just this morning, I woke up with bites all over my shoulder, I think in total I have had about 30-40 bites. My husband is most likely getting bit too but he is not having a reaction to it like I am.

Just on tuesday of this week they came to inspect for roaches and the guy looked for bed bugs and said that they will fill in the request for a treatment!
I am still waiting for a treatment after 6 days! Furthermore, I am still waiting for service to be done on my unit since aug 16th so you can get an idea of the lack of service in this, building, I would not recommend anyone moving into 191 Sherbourne St. Stay away!!!!!!
We will be moving out as soon as we find a new living space. The management staff here are terrible and rude and I have already complained to Metcap and they do not give a crap at all!!!!

I just went down to the lobby and there are bums sleeping in the lobby and crackheads trying to get into the building!

Do not rent a unit here!

I never experienced any problem with bed bugs before, I don't even know how they look like until I moved to 191 Sherbourne St. They are everywhere...no matter hjow hard I tried to protect my matress, you always see one moving slowly on the wall! Not only in the bed room, as well in the living room! When I reported the problem in the management office, they send someone to check out the problem, after 5 days!!! I had to fill up a request and they professional treatment arrived after one week! Fir

st treatment, I did follow up every single proceedure, and I was told that another treatement will take a place in a 2 week period. The pets control visited me after a month! Yet, after the second treatment I still see them crowling on the wall..I am tired and sick of this problem. I made up my mind and decided to leave this place as soon as I finish my semester by the end of 2010.

update on the 5th:

Today was frustrating. We'd gotten notice that our place was to be treated between 9-5, so we'd spent all night after work preparing for pest control. Woke up early to bathe our two cats so they wouldn't infect a friend's house for the hours they couldn't be in the apt.
We just wanted to know what time pest control would be arriving, so we phoned the number provided on our notice of treatment as the "building manager" to see if there could be an estimated time. We were con

nected to the "fill in", and promptly got as far as finding that he did "not speak english". We asked who else we might speak to in the building, and were told that all the management staff were taking a day off. The person filling in for the office admins, and building manager, all day, was a person who could not answer a simple question for me, who hung up on me twice because I was trying to get a straight answer as to whether or not someone would be able to allow pest control into our unit while we were at work, or if we had to be there personally. Eventually we searched the entire properties of 191 and 201 sherbourne to find that for certain, the only usual staff on hand were the people who mop the floors, and the accountant who was very fed up with us by then for bothering him the past few days.
It was almost comical when we ran into two fire marshalls conducting a long-planned fire drill who were not informed the management staff had taken a group day off either. We eventually (through mostly half-sentences and hand-gestures) managed to understand that yes, the handyman would in fact be the one in touch with pest control today to let them in. (Understood only when he handed over his list of all units getting some sort of pest treatment for the day to me. Wow, that was a pretty long list.)

So coming home after work now, get the cats back inside, and there's really no way for me to tell if anyone has been here to treat the apartment. No notice on the door of completion, no signs of any DE or other dusts, no smell of chemicals. Maybe they're steaming the unit? I cringe to think I will have to again tomorrow take my wailing cats across town on a streetcar if they suddenly show up unannounced. Christmas will be a broke one as I cannot fathom a way to get our last month's rent deposit back and end my lease jan 1st, so since we do not want to stay in this place we will have to cut our losses, give notice to move jan 31st, and end up paying two rents in january. Pleasant holiday cheer and all that. Thank god for that mattress cover--no signs of bugs in the bed still, and haven't a single bite since we don't have any furniture besides that anymore. If anyone wonders if putting your mattress in a bedbug proof cover and your bed posts in water, it's seeming to work for our mild situation. I also put tea tree oil in the water and while smelling like vapo-rub isn't all that great, it makes me feel better, even if it's a placebo. I take a shower before and after sleep...and on our way to family visits this coming week we'll be laundering everything before and after getting there. Hopefully we won't bring any of these suckers with us!

Apologies for the length. At my wit's end. Hoping someone in this building will sign my form already so I can just get on with my life!

My boyfriend and I have been getting bit for more than a month now, and had attributed it to dust mites or just my cat allergies/wine allergies, etc, anything we could blame it on, when today we found TWO live bedbugs in our couch.

We live on the 5th floor and will be warning all of our neighbours. We'll be alerting the landlords tomorrow and hopefully be moved out of this crack-den building not as soon as we could hope.

Never move into 191 or 201 Sherbourne st at Dund

le to manage the problem while I lived there.
I am writing because I know how it stressed me (hell I spent $300+ on a bed when I was poor). But you can manage it until you leave. Unfortunately that old building has and always will be bug infested, even mice too
Harass the management. I resorted to posting signs of 'infestation' in the hallways/elevator and even on the front door. It was fun watching people read it on the lobby cam
Good Luck

I live in a two bedroom apartment in the downtown Church and Wellesley area. The building itself is clean, however I do rent one of the room out to university students every academic year. Out of the 9 years I rented, two that brought the bed bugs in their futon with them. The first time it took me 6 months to rid of the pest, I did not know any better or what to use. The second time I was more vigilant and took me two months using Pro Aerosol Insecticide available at Dudley's Hardware at Church

St or Home Hardware at Carlton and Parliament street. It cost approx $18 per can. Yes you need to spray as frequently as possible. At least 3 times a week. Every inch of the hardwood floor. Electrical outlets, Every door or closet frames. Any furnitures made of wood. It will cost a few hundred dollars but it's effective. Make sure you air out the room as long as possible, the fume can be toxic especially to the pets. Get metal frame bed and make sure it does not touch any side of the wall. Of course if you live in a building infested with the pest, that could be impossible to deal with.

My partner and I have just moved into 191 Sherbourne St, to an apartment that was 'half finished' at that. There were a few dead cockroaches on the stove at first and I mentioned them and got the brush off. We were desperate to find a place as we were staying in a hotel at the time and time and money were running out. After only less then a month we noticed these brown bugs.. i googled them and wondered if they really were bed bugs as we hadnt seen any in the bed. Especially as it is brand new-

just 2 months old! In the last few nights I have started getting bitten and its already driving me insane. Last night I found them in the closet, on the ceiling, in the lounge room.. i mean, its becoming a freak show.
I know how management are here and after reading everyone's helpless efforts at getting some sort of help, im beginning to wonder whether its worth it.
I cant believe that there is a site dedicated to this building and all the others! I lived downtown last year in a shabbier place and never saw 1 bug!

once there in the building you've got problems, these pests are hard to get rid of 100% and there all over the city now, management at 191 sherbourne could be doing alot more to better educate residents on how to spot and kill them but they just keep quiet (the least they could do is schedule a mass spraying and then postpone it the day its supossed to be done lol) they may be dormant now because of the cold but come spring, they'll be back, give your notice and try your luck elsewhere

Thanks a lot Zell.
We need great people like you in our building.
Currently we are on 12th floor, and have not found any bedbugs. I will ask my neighbours to take actions suggested by you.
I have sealed our door, and used tapes (with sticky side toward outside) to wrap the legs of the bed, to prevent bedbugs coming to our unit.
These bugs might move up fast by each floor.
It is time for us to take some actions.
Thank you again for your help!

Hey there, I\'m on the 5th floor of 101

Neighbours beside us moved out, and then they came into our apt. I spotted them right away, I had them YEARS ago, so I knew exactly what to do.

1) get an exterminator (they were in 3 days later - this building used crap exterminators) So I bought some of my own poison, make sure it is \'residual\'. They have a 2 week incubation period where poison wont hurt them, so make sure something nice is ready for them when they emerge.

2) Set up a

safe zone. You can set up your bed so that they can\'t bite you ever again! There are bed bug proof covers you can get (for any size bed matress/box spring) and you can move your bed a foot away from any wall and put the legs of your bed in yougert containers then fill the containers with water. (the basterds can\'t swim or jump) You also have double sided tape to use.

3) Put caulking (the white rubber stuff in your shower) around everything. The walls inbetween units have tiny cracks they use to travel. Stop them fom reinfesting you from units that refuse to let themselves be sprayed.

4) Tell your neighbours - I did, you can ask them. I said \"I saw a bed bug, we\'re getting sprayed, you could be alert for them and put caulking to stop them from getting in\".

5) Bed bugs don\'t lay eggs in your laundry. They like hard surfaces and cracks. But if they are in your laundry pile, an hour in the dryer - high heat, will toast em

I have also living in 191 Sherbourne, so far have not found any bedbugs. I am worried sooner or later our unit will get infested.

Would anybody tell me which floor is infested currently? If it is out of control, we will move out. Hopefully 60 days notice should be enough to let us move out without taking responsible for the rent if the unit is not rented.

Dec 6, 2008

Yup bed bugs here for sure, i had to buy a steam cleaner, then steam EVERYTHING 2 - 3 times a week, sprays, vacuums, everything, nothing kills these pests. i'm moving soon so my sanity is slowly returning, i have to trow out just about everything tho, im tempted to just pack up what isn't infested and leave the rest, let them worry about it, management really doesn't care its true, 4 people moved off my floor last week, management doesn't want to be bothered, stay away from 191/20

1 sherbourne, bed bugs are only the beginning.

So it is now Dec 3rd at 5:45 pm We recieved a notice at our door yesterday saying that an exterminator will be coming between the hours of 9am-5pm and once your unit has been sprayed you must remain out of the unit for a minimun of 4 hours. I waited ALL day for these guys to show up and went down to the Buildings office managers and asked if the pest control people were here yet and this was at 11am... then around 12 I headed back downstairs so check again with no luck. They JUST knocked on our

door at 5:45pm demanding entrance for extermination.... WTF!
When I said that our 24 hour notice states you were to exterminate between 9-5 our building Manager stepped in and said either you do it now or never... I said Fine... I wont have it done... A) because its not my responsibily that the exterminator didnt show up for work today until after dark and B) I did have arragnements for my partner and I to go to his Moms house with our 2 dogs, however now its too late and she has gone out. So why am I supposed to be CONSTANTLY inconvienced by these ppl, they give NOTHING and I am supposed to bend every which way for them - this place it utter bull.
Thanks again for listening

I am here at 191 Sherbourne aka:Hell!
I have lived here for about 2 years and for the past 6-8 months have been battling
the vicious demonds we call Bedbugs! I get eaten alive nighty, to the point now that
I barely sleep for fear of getting bit. Its 4:30 in the morning and I have only been laying
on my couch for an hour and a half... trying to get some shut eye as i've been up for over 24 hrs as is, I couldnt even get through an hour and half without finding two begbugs feasting upon my fac

e, neck and arms.... I stood up to see if i could spot them but no luck so I take my shirt off to examine and there they were.DISGUSTING! these little a-holes are crawling on my while i try to sleep, they are in my clothes biting me contuniously!! I cant even sleep for a hour and half people! There have been many ppl reporting this problem from every floor of this building and The building management likes to deny that we have a problem here and that its up to us (the tenants) to "take care of it" I've bought spray upon spray upon spray, done laundry until one can no longer look at laundry without wanting to vomit, washed my apt from top to bottom and treated all infected areas and nothing is helping!! We now have to throw out most of my clothes and bed/boxspring and of course my awesome most expensive sofa... and I would love to know how the hell I am going to get the money to replace all of these items...My sanity has been diminished, i've lost my job, my freinds dont want to see me, im afraid to sit on anything fabric, ttc, starbucks coffee chair, or even brush up against someone for fear of contracting more bugs and spreading more bugs. The past few months of my life have been Hell on earth, I cant sleep beside my partner, I cant even lay in my own bed let alone be intimate without being eaten alive and left swollen red and in tears with frustration! This has taken its toll and I want some resolve but am afraid that this building doesnt care about is tenants, only the money that they bring in, there is such a high turn over in the building and every garbage day you can now see matresses stacked to high heaven ..... you'd think they would see this and want to improve the quailty of living for the already exsisting tenants and ever so vulnerable new victims they convince to sign a lease. Stay away from downtown all together but this building especially,
you'll end up itchy and scratchy just like me, and I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy - we need help here.

Also have bed bug problems here.

My partner and I have lived here at 191 Sherbourne street for almost 2 years now and have been having issues with the building managment and general maitenance since the get go. This building is a building that ignores its tennants, dosen't reply to requests, deny's us our rights and offers no solution to any of the questions or inquries that I may have cocerning the building. They enjoy blowing you off and telling you they "Don't know."
Now I have a new issue, another one they don't seem to ha

ve the answer to, "BEDBUGS." For roughly 6 months now I have had to watch my partner get eaten alive almost nightly by these vicious little monsters.Ittook us awhile to realize what the problem was because they are hard to see and they only come out at night. When we became aware of the situation we went to the rental office to report the problem. They gave us a can of bug spray and some steel wool (to fill in a hole that still exists to this day under our kitchen sink) Obviosly none of that worked so we tried a couple of spays that I purchased and took it as far as to cutting the bottom of my boxspring off to really get at them. It is now November 28th 2008 and I have recently told the office 3 days ago on November 25th 2008 of this issue again and no resolve has been offered, We are seriously infested here and are affraid this will only get worse. Steer clear of this area. These appartment units here are absolutly great its a shame that it all gets spoiled due to the managments inability to resolve issues, keep staff and keep supers as we have had at least 6 different sets of supers in the almost 2 years weve been here. Thanks for listening.

and i felt sick we had just perchased a 1,500.00 bed nore more than 3 months ago and with the shotty cleaning and the rappid turn over in our building i believe the bedbugs have come from the adjoining aparptment as they had just resently moved our and our walls arnt very thick

Did you tell me about your problem?
Thanks

They will come back ! Watch !!

I have noticed bites on my legs for the past month now on and off. Today I found a full grown bed bug in the crevice of my mattress. I killed it, vacuumed the mattress, box spring etc...cleaned everything in my bedroom from top to bottom. No other bugs were encountered and only a few areas of droppings were noticed. I sprayed the bed and caulked along the baseboards. Also, used powder around the floors.
