The City of Toronto has a Bedbug Project underway. Public input is needed! Their latest decision, made Nov. 17, 2008 is at http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2008/hl/decisions/2008-11-17-hl19-dd.pdf
Contact your City Councillor! We need legislation!

I have rented a unit on the 2nd floor in the building in 2008.
After moving in the unit I discovered that there are small holes on the baseboards, on the hardwood floors, inside the electrical outlets and a lot of bed bugs living inside them, later on after speaking with the trani crossdresser Francine superintendent she denied ever having bedbugs. I also had mice and requested to get the hell out! Some of the tennants I came to know that they have experienced the same thing. I had to go to the doctor because my skin started to swallow and it irritated me so much, it iwas a terrible experience that I really don’t want to see any one going through. At night I was not able to sleep at all, it is extremely stupid and irritating feeling.
Building management are really careless, stupid the worst ever. It is only after you complain one million time, is when they would supply you with the cheapest after market insecticides that doesn’t even work for bedbugs.
I am posting this as a WARNING, this building at 58 Maitland and the 2 dumps next door 54 & 56 also are infested with bed buds and the management who are loosers with this trani Francine Trancine are the worst ever, they don’t understand and don’t care about any thing except for collecting the rent they will not help you to get rid of the infestation but rather they would take you to court if you try to move out. Stay away my brother/sister. She is running a dump and trashy inside...dirty! The outside looks like a halfway house.
Scummy places that are sooo dirty

Late April, 2008. After living in this building for seven years without incident, I found bedbugs. (Note that I have a futon mattress resting on a wooden frame. If you're considering buying a futon, go with a metal frame only, as bedbugs have trouble climbing smooth surfaces like metal or plastic.) It took more than a week after giving my super the work order requesting the apt. be fumigated for it to happen, during which time I'm sure the problem got worse (I wasn't staying there). Just before spraying, I threw out a lot of my stuff, and put all my clothes in garbage bags stacked in the tub. Yesterday (May 15th), I saw an adult bug on the wall of my tub while pulling clothes out to do laundry (which I then packed up in large plastic containers for protection). I hope the sighting was isolated, but this weekend I will be putting in another request for re-spraying ASAP just in case. Since I'm not sleeping there, I don't know how bad the problem still is - I just hope it hasn't spread to other units. My super told me that she asked the people in apts. surrounding mine & no one has had a problem, but I don't know. The building next to mine is infested & I have seen people garbage picking from that building's thrown out furniture, so maybe that's how it got into my building. (Don't garbage pick or buy used (wooden) furniture!) I am going to have to throw out all my furniture, books & papers and I will be putting all my remaining (sentimental) stuff in storage - all in sealed plastic containers - for two years, just to be safe. I'm moving into my boyfriend's but paranoid to sleep in his bed & worried that I've brought the problem here with me, even though I've been careful!
