Come on Bob I sent you a least 2 emails with my full name and did not get a reply. Why are you so elusive. Why do I have to use this blog?

Hey Bob were is my rent receipt , you would think with the $100 membership fee that I let you keep after I moved out . Would at least entitle me to my rent receipt for the few months that i lived at the co-op with the never set in stone rules that change at the flick of a thump.

There are several reports for this building that have nothing to do with bedbugs. They also reflect a complete ignorance of how a housing co-op operates, so they have been filed either by someone who doesn't live here, and therefore knows nothing about the building, or someone who lived here for a short time and did nothing to learn about the co-op.

There is a system for complaints, which obviously the person who wrote about the unit where partying was supposedly happening knows nothing abou

t. As Manager here I haven't seen any complaints.

The anonymous post on 04/30/2012 refers repeatedly to tenants and landlords. Hello...this is a housing co-op - you are the landlord fool.

I also have to say that it is cowardly to post without putting your name into the complaint. It shows why 'anonymous' complaints shouldn't be allowed too, since the comments are, in my opinion, defamatory. Show some courage and post your name. I am.

This building sucks interms of the kids growing up here and when they turn 18-19 the age that they become eligable to go on goverment welfare get there own unit , while there parents still live in the building. All the kids get the top floor apt along with any other new tenent, and let me tell you the parties these kids have and the late night slamming of doors and the werdioes these kids bring in at night crawliing with bedbugs , spit in the elevators balls being bounced of walls at night. Don

Main and Gerrard co-op is in fact run by a "bully" named Bob Wisemen. In stead of treating the bed bug problem from the beginning, he ignored people and asked that they bring him a bug as proof. The bites were not substantial enough for him. Bob was too busy using the Co-op credit cards to buy books off Amazon to do his job as usual.

Do not move to this place unless you want to live with bed bugs that will not be controlled unless you kiss Bob's butt. Join a committee an

d do nasty deeds for him.

This update is to give you the truth about our Co-op. We had bedbug sniffing dogs in and we are almost completely free. We have two units that may have bedbugs out of 102, which is such an improvement over last year when the dogs came through that as a community we are really happy. The members worked hard and that has paid off.

February 10, 2011

Well, two more posts, both negative and both anonymous. I would seriously like the people who run this website to consider the libel laws in allowing anonymous posts of this type.

Regardless, I have to wonder why such unhappy people still live here if it is so terrible?

In the past two years I have worked with real members of the Co-op, those who are trying to build the community while these posters are trying to destroy it, to deal with the serious problem of bedbug

s. We have spent a great deal of time and money on solving the problem. As proof of that we are bringing bedbug sniffing dogs in today to check to see if our measures are effective. Most importantly, the members of the Co-op have worked hard and put up with a lot in making the adjustment to protecting agains these bug.

Building management Robert Wiseman (aka bully) would have you believe that bed bugs problems have been solved. I just received a letter from the management that they will be coming to our apartment AGAIN to check for bed bugs with dogs!

While they are "looking" for bed bugs in your apartment you are asked to stay out -- because of the dog. The guy from the last company stole our visa card.

I would recommend a homeless shelter before this place. I would NOT recommend this place to my worst

enemy. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, at any time, for any reason whatsoever!!!

This building is HELL DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!! The bugs are and have been a HUGE problem for YEARS If you are considering moving here save money on movers and leave all your stuff at your old address you will only have to throw it out when you get INFESTED with bedbugs!! Management will only band aid the situation instead of solving it!!!!

Once again Jade posts incorrect information. I wish that you would identify yourself, instead of posting false information and hiding behind a pseudonym.

We have treated the entire building twice. In the latest round we treated specific units, including some that had been treated a couple of weeks ago. Bedbugs were not found in any of the units just treated. I have a pretty good idea which unit 'Jade' is in and I have never had a bedbug brought to me from that unit, nor have either of the tw

o pest control companies we have used found bedbugs in that unit.

Our most recent company doesn't think that two treatments, given the way they do the treatment, are necessary. They have been successful in getting rid of bedbugs in another co-operative.

In a co-operative, 'Jade', members work together to solve problems. They don't hide behind false names and even less accurate information. They don't let gossip substitute for common sense. Come out, come out whoever you are...

Bob, "Main Gerrard Co-op"

if this building actually became a co-operative, as you have put it, you would be out of a job.
Not only is the building riddled with bedbugs, the place is falling apart. there are large holes and gaps in the walls and floors and the spraying only occurs a few units at a time. after the manager decides to allow a spraying, if the bugs return, members are expected to pay for the pest control out of their own pocket. manager also says that 'one spray should suffice'.

he continues to blame residents for a building wide problem, wherein pest control chases the bugs from one unit to another.

in a real co-op with an active and functioning board and membership, meetings would be co-ordinated at regular intervals, those who are severely disabled and mentally ill need help preparing their units, and a building wide spray every few weeks would get rid of the bugs. also, getting maintainace to seal up all cracks and holes to keep the bugs out would help. it is a complete waste of time and money to use a band aid approach. this building has had a bed bug problem for three years. at some point u cant keep blaming the residents for what is a complete failure of management, board and membership. DONT MOVE HERE

The two comments that have been posted are inaccurate except that we have had some units with bedbugs.

We have sprayed the entire building twice. We have some units that repeatedly get bedbugs and we have sprayed them as many as 6 times. As well, we purchase containers of diatomaceous earth and hand it out to members. We have invested in materials and more than doubled our budget for pest control. We continue to look at ways to battle this pest and it certainly doesn't help to have 'members'

of the co-operative post misleading and factually incorrect information about the efforts we are making, hiding behind false names. I am signing this with my real name.

The solution to resolving bed bug infestations isn't just in the hand of management or landlords though. Residents MUST be active in the solution to infestations. It takes hard work to clean up from an infestation and defeat bedbugs. This is a co-operative, so work co-operatively.

This building has no money in their budget to make repairs or spray for bugs. we were told they sprayed back in august, but when we returned to the unit, nothing had been touched or moved and there was no evidence of pesticides sprayed. they were dishonest when renting this unit about the state of the bed bug situation, they said there were a few isolated cases.people are throwing away brand new beds leaving them outside. The building is in severe disrepair and there seems to be no money in the b

udget to fix simple things like leaks. They've increased the market rent leaving hard working ppl paying over a thousand a month to live in this hole. DONT MOVE HERE. They will tell you they'll give you a subsidy and that the bugs are under control. Theyre not. i am leaving ASAP.

204 Main Street's building has been infested with bedbugs for the past three years. Building management does not spray every apartment in the building. They also do not spray the storage area in the basement where all the tenants keep their personal belongings.
