Maple Ridge Community Management and the Board of Directors are pleased to announce that the issue of Bed Bugs has been eradicated at 17 Barberry Place, Toronto Ontario.
The Corporation enlisted the services of a private pest control firm and has received a clean bill of health with written documentation.
If you wish to see the letter please contact Management to obtain a copy.

The management, Maple Ridge Community Management, did not tell us there was such a problem.
They posted all kinds of notices in the public area, but NOTHING about the bed bug.
Should the management or Board of Directors tell us about it?
At the end of the day, we are going to pay for the cost of replacing our carpets, furnitures, and sleepless nights.
The only way to solve the problem is everyone works together to improve the hygiene and awareness.

Bed bugs on the 16th floor of 17 Barberry Place!!
On August 4th, infested and surrounding units on the 17th, 16th, and 15th floor were treated with permethrin which is highly toxic and has been classified as a possible carcinogen by the US EPA.
Bed bugs, however, are still reported to be present on the 16th floor after a second treatment.
It is believed that the bugs originated on the 18th floor of the building and have migrated.
Other floors/units may be infested.
Some of the affec
ted units on the 16th floor will be vacated at the end of August and at the end of September.
Be careful if considering renting or buying in this building!

I'm a renter on the 17th floor. I don't seem to have a big infestation (saw less than 15, dead and alive), might have been that I discovered them early in the cycle? They were nesting in the 4 corners of my bedframe just under the mattress but didn't take over the mattress at all. Might be the fact that I have an IKEA bedframe with slats and a foam mattress which is less inviting than a box spring set.
Got bitten twice in the left leg about 2 months ago before I realized what was going on. S
prayed the entire place several times with Raid (the formula that kills bedbugs) and has never been bitten again. Some bugs did come out to die. Cleaned my bedframe and there has been no trace of feacal matter since then. Know that they are still probably in the apartment but it seems to be under control.
Looks like they came from the unit next door since I've seen 4 live ones at different times at almost the exact same spot on the wall I share with the neighboring unit. Seemed like they were climbing up from the base board.
Someone must have reported the problem and Management hired pest control who came earlier this week to treat the apartment. Only one bug came out to die after the treatment. Hopefully it's a good sign that I don't have a big problem left. I will keep spraying on my own and considering getting a handheld steam cleaner in case new bugs come in from neighboring units.

Are you able to tell us what floor your client's unit is on?

one of my clients who leased a unit in that building, called me and said his unit has bed bugs, and the pest control company ordered them to leave the unit for at least 20 days to clean up the place.
