Aside from bedbugs and cockroaches which are present in the building as a whole. Beefing up security and dealing with unsavory tenants will be a major life improvement for all tenants. Men peeing at the back door and in the elevators is disgusting. Level of drunk tenants and their behavior (yelling and fighting) needs to be addressed.

I moved into a 2 bedroom unit on January 26th 2010. The first night I was there, I saw cockroaches by the front door. After reporting it to the landlord (Rudy), pest control placed gel in my cuboards, and by the front door in big gobs which were not placed properly. My little kids touched it they thought it was candy. In the cuboards it was placed in open view instead of corners which ended up falling on my food. The roach problem got worse. I ended up not being able to keep any food in cuboards
, had to put everything in fridge including tea, coffee, pasta, etc. I spent countless hours cleaning and disinfecting the unit, using my own pest control and money which is natural so my children dont get poisioned. I had to spend money on weather stripping for the front door to stop the cockroaches from coming in the front door. The problem never stopped!!! It was emotionally draining. In October 2012 we then noticed my son having bites and severe rashes on his body. After a few days of treatment it didnt get better. We then discovered BED BUGS SEVERE INFESTATION in our sofas, ottomans, curtains and all beds. This is why my son was getting rashes. I had to throw everything out that I own and start from fresh. I now live in a new building and still do not have all my furniture that I need. This building is the absolute worst I have ever lived in. I couldn't even have my family and friends come over to visit because there is cockroaches in elevators and hallways and I fear they may take BED BUGS home with them. DO NOT RENT from this building!!! You will have many problems!!!!!!!!!

MOVED IN FEB 2010 AND WAS TOLD NO ROACHES, I DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHAT BED BUGS WERE TO ASK. EVERY THING WAS FINE FOR 4 MONTHS THEN THE ROACHES STARTED. THE FORTH MONTH I SAW 5 THE SIXTH 200 ETC. THEN HE SPRAYED AND HE TOLD ME ACTIVITY WOULD INCREASE FOR A WHILE. IT DIDNT DO ANYTHING. SO I CAULKED MY CUPBOARDS AND STUFFED THE OPEN SPACE ABOVE MY CUPBOARDS WITH NEWS PAPER AND ROACH TRAPS. RUDY BEING FRUSTRATED (THE SUPER) TOLD ME I WAS DIRTY; THEN THE BED BUGS STARTED AND FOR AWHILE I DIDNT KNOW
WAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON CAUSE IVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE BED BUGS. SO I RESEARCHED THEN I ASKED AROUND AT LEAST 5 OTHER PEOPLE IN THE BUILDING THAT I KNOW OF HAD BBS. I DID LAUNDRY 1000 TIMES SEALED ALL MY STUFF IN PLASTIC AND THREW MY COUCH OUT. ORKIN CAME IN AND SAID THAT THEY DIDNT SEE ANY BUT SPRAYED ANYWAY AND SAID SAME IN TWO WEEKS.
FOR A MONTH MY HOUSE HAS BEEN IN SHAMBLES I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO I PACK, UNPACK, PACK, UNPACK NOW IM JUST GONNA MOVE. STUFF ALREADY PACKED. IM GONNA PUT WATS LEFT OF MY STUFF IN STORAGE AND MOVE ASAP. CAUSE IM STILL GETTING BIT EVERY NIGHT. I VACCUME AND CHANGE SHEETS EVERY OTHER DAY. i CANT AFFORD TO KEEP DOING LAUNDRY. IM LOSING MY MIND AND I AM PERMENTLY SCARRED STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUILDING.
PS THE IMPROPER DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE IS CONTRIBUTING TO REINFESTATION OF OTHER TENANTS. THE GARBAGE OUT BACK IS A MOUNTAIN EVERY MONTH OF BEDS AND COUCHES. IF U WANT TO BE BB FREE AND NOT WASTE A LARGE CHUNK OF CASH STAY AWAY FROM THIS NIGHTMARE OF A BUILDING.

Moved into this building on jan.01,2011.Have not seen any infestation problem like I had at the last apartment down the street.Super nice people here,and a real sense of community.This was the smartest move I made for myself and two small kids.Couldn't be happier.

I moved to this building six weeks ago.It is far better than the hellhole i came from down the block.I have to respond to the previous post by wjp or whatever that person goes by.You don.t know shit.Have not seenany sign of cockroaches or bedbugs.I went to see the super ,his name is Rudy, He told me that If I have any problems with roaches or bedbugs,to see him and fill out a maintanance request and he would send a professional pet controll company to do an initial inspection and if necessary tr
eat any problem.if one is found. This went along way to reassure me that I made the right decision to move here from the hellhole I was in down the street.I have not been happier since moving in here with my 2 kids.

I moved into this building 3 months ago.I was looking at this site and became concerned over the postings of bedbugs here.I went to the super,whose name I believe is Rudy,and he assured me that if I had any problem to come down and fill a maintainance request form and he would send a professional pest control company to come and check out my problem free of charge. This reassured me greatly. I do not have any problems with any pests,but if I do ,I now know the proceedure to deal with it.Just tho
ught I would pass this along.

Why don't you go to the super and have him arrange a free preinspection of your problem from a licensed pest control company?
What are you doing to help eradicate the out of control bedbug problem in Toronto?
It is very easy to sit back and bitch about problems,it is another thing to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!
Be proactive. Take responsability for your domain,and you will see how quickly we can all benefit.

I have posted on this site before,and I feel the need to comment on some of the prevoius posts.
If you have a bedbug problem,What are you doing to help correct the problem? Go to the Super,His Name is Rudy. He will definatly help.He can arrange for a licenced pest control company to come and have a proper pre-inspection done to determine if you have a problem.If they find that you do have an infestatation,The super will arrange a treatment for you at no charge.You must be also be on board. That
means you must follow the pest company's instructions as carefully as possible to prepare your apartment for the treatment. If you don't prepare properly,the pest control company cannot treat your apartment properly or at all.Please help us all by taking this problem seriously . As I have said before,Pest control starts with you. If you are not part of the solution,then you ARE part of the problem.You cannot leave this problem for some one else to fix.YOU MUST TAKE OWNERSHIP OF YOUR DOMAIN.

I live at 2560 Kingston road, I have had problems with bed bugs for 2 years now. At first we had them from someone coming to the house with them, we got sprayed, cleaned the place and they left for about 6 months. And just recently they reappeared on our furniture. Our house is almost empty due to the fact we have had to throw out most of our belongings. It is very depressing and stressful to deal with begs, they are hard to get rid of. The superintendant of 2560 Rudy knows the bugs are in the b
uilding yet he won't have it sprayed or inform the building tenants. I don't know whether its because he doesn't want everyone to leave or lose money or just because he doesnt care. The people of 2560 are in dire need of help of pest control. It is causing sickness and distress for the tenants therefore making it an uncomfortable place to live. This building makes me sick to my stomach, thats how gross it is. I want to move ASAP, I would move tomorrow if that were possible. But we aren't wealthy people and we are already under enough financial strain, so it makes it very hard to pay for laundering, furniture damage and moving costs. Someone please demolish these buildings and set fire to where they stood.

But much happier, no dorks yelling at me nor complaints about getting on elevators with my rottweiler, no mid nights tools machinery running nor domestic fighting below, no door's slamming, no ignorant kids throwing objects of the balcony, no more loud garbage trucks 6:30a.m, nor loud false fire alarms constantly going off in the summer-time because some kid dare his friend just for laughs, plumbing constantly always off. The list just goes on and on. Enough is enough...

2550 & 2560 Kingston Road Toronto, Ontario Canada Having issues with Bed Bugs, Cockroaches, Not Cashing Money Orders and then accusing the Tenant of not paying rent and taking them to the Tribunal. Mr Hal was very rude to me. I just wanted to give the guy a B_I-T_CH Slap over the phone that's how rude he is... (though I really would not)
I was also told that there was NO Cockroaches before I moved in. I have never lived anywhere with these bugs so there is now way I would have brought them. A
lso why do I have to request spraying? Are they not suppose to spray every 6 months? My sibling lives in a co-op and they spray every 6 months for both bedbugs and roaches. How hard is it for them to do this? If you only spray when people move out they just go to another apartment.
The building was inspected for the smoke alarms and detectors and mine was not working since I moved in, the inspection was about 4 months ago, and I was told I would get a new one and I am still waiting on this.
It is also nice when you want to try and stay healthy and take the stairs instead the elevator and people pee on the landings and then it can take them months to clean it up. I think the longest a puddle was there for was 2 months and when they did clean it up they do not do it fully so you can still see where it was.
I was also told when I was looking at the place that there was a pool. I asked Larry (the Buliding Ast S Att) because on the ad they had said they did and I asked how to get to it and they said you go through the underground parking to the other building. After I moved in I asked a few months later how to get to it since it is in the other building and then I was told that it has not been working since 2006. They seem to advertise they have a pool during the winter months and in the summer they don't say they have one.
Also I have had problems with my water running constantly from the bath ever since I moved in. They had to know about this because as soon as I tested the water the first day it has never shut off. It will stay off all the way if they turn the water off but will start running again when they turn the water back on, which is how they did it probably before I moved in. I only know this because they seem to be doing constant repairs to the plumbing where the water is shut off at least once a month if not more and they do not always give notice. Though due to my water running all the time it is easier for mold to grow and I am constantly cleaning in there.
I really feel that these apartments are not worth the $1000+ rent that the tenants pay

Bedbugs are an epidemic in this city. Just look at the map to see all the reported infestations.what people have to realize is that pest control starts with you . Take resonsability for your problem and deal with it. Bedbugs infest peoples homes by human to human contact. That means you have come into contact with some one who has them ,they have attached themselves to your clothes ,and you have brought them to your apartment.Why does this become the Landlords problem? You don't ask the the lan
dlord to clean your dishes when you dirty them,do you? I am a tenant in 2560 Kingston road for the last 5 years. I DO NOT HAVE BEDBUGS. Why? Because I take the proper measures to make sure that I do not Infest my apartment.Every time I have had a Problem I have taken it to the Superintendant or the Propery Manager .The issue is dealt with in a prompt and courteous manner. Please take responsability for you apartment,I do not want to have a pest problem because you do nothing to rid yourselves of the infestation. First buy a good matress bag,to cover your matress.Any good pest controll company can recommend a source to you.Second do not take abandoned furniture or bedding,no matter how good it looks.and finally take controll of your problem! The fact that some one in the building has a problem with these pests do not mean you have to have a problem in your apartment.

On Oct 5th, talking to my sister,to walk her through computer stuff, caught at the corner of my eye, saw something reddish brown moved in my PC keyboard, next day spray dust off into the keyboard, holding an lamp over the key board, out crawling was an bug, and something black, crabbed an tissue for the black thing and squeeze and nothing but blood on the tissue. an fishing trip up North on Sept 11 of 2009, next day he had three big bites, down his right leg, didn't think anything of it than because he thought it was black flies and I had bites all over my body as well but I thought mine was from food allergies.
I call Mr. Hal of W.J Properties he was rude, he had me on hold while on the other line talking about snow tires and accusing me of bringing them in, or I should let my pets go outside, when I live on the in an high rise or to change my jobs and told me he will have the place spray this one time and the next time I have to pay Pest Control. What kind of Landlord is he, that's all he cares about is coming to pick up he's rent cheques and leaving. I'm living in an upside down apartment, everything is in 20 Rubbermaid container's, all my clothes I must fork out about $200 to do laundry & buy garbage's, top it all off, my pre-wash clean clothes are in bags in locker room, I loss expensive antique chairs because I follow the rules to have them steam clean and sure enough out crawling from the fabric was white bugs, found an nest in our brand new cat scratcher, after steam cleaning, took pictures. We did an clean sweep of the entire apartment, my husband lost allot of padded tools, brand new orthopedic mattress we just bought last year from Sears and orthopedic office chair. Yes, we loss allot of money on furniture, we being putting allot of money out, we are sleeping on an portable bed, eating T.V dinners, had to bored and get all animals bathed because they where eaten as well.
I been sleeping on the balcony afraid to go bed, although we bought covers for the mattress, which is now sitting out back of our building. I have apartment Insurance which does not covered Bed bug damage to furniture.
I being really anger, an basket case, psychologist drain, mental and emotional drain, jumpy, constantly checking the walls with an flash light seeing if their crawling up the walls to the ceiling to drop on my husband, while my husband slept in the bed, making sure he was okay while sleeping in the bedroom. I'm living in fear at 2560 Kingston Rd., cashed in our R.R.S.P after the place gets spray the second time, than we are gone from this dive.
I notify Public Health & Tenant Associate Act of board, now I have to paid $45 to register an T6 form to put in an complain, spoke with an Lawyer, we both loss time from work, sleep, and our Thanksgiving turkey dinner because of this nightmare. I spoke to other tenants in the building apparently an lady on the ninth floor told me two years ago at this same building she had bed bugs and she will testify to this known fact. Today, she still live in fear. I been living here 8 years, and now the bullies bed bug has made it to my unit.
I being putting out furniture that which we had found bed bug nested inside and some idiot is thinking he found an great investment until he goes to bed at night. What an sucker... There's other tenants in the building which have bed bugs as well, are to shame to come forward.
Excuse the grammar and error, my mind is not with me at this presented time because I'm concern about my family health & safety and my well being and state of mind.
When I came to this building years ago, there was over 28 unit available for rent and if bed bug where here before,than by law it's the landlord responsibility to write an written letter to notify the new and old tenants of the bed bug's.

There are quite a few people picking stuff from the garbage, i have witnesses this way too many times, fron 2560 and 2550 so it is only a matter of time before you are getting complaints from 2550 as well, so to blame any one individual is a waste of time, it takes all of the building to step up to the plate, and check your beds very thoroughly, if you see one, then i will guarantee you there are alot more throughout your apt. please do not feel ashamed of that you will be judged on cleanliness, it is not about that, it is human blood they are looking for. so please report it immediately to rudy to get treated right away, they will not leave on their own. I have lived at 2550 Kingston road for the last 8 years.The building does not have any problems with bedbugs. There has been a few minor problems with occupants bringing the bugs from other locations,but the management is very pro active and takes care of these issues immediately.I take exception to the fact that the fine reputation of this building is being tarnished by a disgruntled occupant.Take the time to talk to the management and you will not find a more concerned a
nd attentive landlord anywhere in this city.

All building is infested with bed bags. Senior Property Manager is very rude and he wanted to charge tenants for bedbugs extermination. At the end of month, the garbage area is full with furniture. People abandon their belongs and prefer to go away from that miserable place.
