I saw your post on bedbugger.com. I am sorry to hear about your neighbor. I felt I should take the time to write.
I had bb's for over 2 years and the chemicals failed ( phamtom, suspend, demand, kicker, bedlam). Here is what finally worked please pass it on. Liquid DE. I have tried DE powder in the past without much success ( tood thick mostly afraid to use due to lung cancer risk ). An epidemelogist in New Mexico who has a nationally syndicated column uses this. ette used this, that is where I understood the mix ( 20% liquid dish soap, 40% h20, 40% ethyl alcohol and as much DE as you can dissolve in a sprayer, I use a chapin one from the hardware store so it does not clog ). It is nontoxic once dry ( where a mask to apply ). Follow jeanette's advise, it has been over a month for me bite free this is the longest in over two years that I have not been bitten. In the spring & summer of 2007, My daughter inlaw lived in apt 209 of this building and her apartment became infested with bedbugs. We believe the bedbugs came from a mattress that was left in the hallway for several days. The landlord had the apartment sprayed but apparently it was not the correct kind of spray for bedbugs. She had to throw out all of her and her childrens beds, carpets, livingroom furniture. We purchased spray from a website and this did not work for long either. She tried e
verything but nothing seemed to work for long. The landlord / owner refused to spray again and she ended up going to court just to get out of her 60 day notice obligation. the landlord and owner did very little to correct the situation and most of their belongings had to be discarded. They moved with very little more than the clothes on their backs to minimize the risk of bringing the bugs with them. 9 Months later and all is well,no thanks to the owner /landlord.
