itchy and furious on 09/13/2009
My hubby and have been getting red itchy spots on our arms and legs for a few weeks now, we just couldn't figure out what was causing this in both of us. Today (Sept 13th, 2009) he decided to check the bed and low and behold we found the little critters.
I am really upset right now to find out that our building was aware of the problem and hasn't told the tenants, I could have prevented this in our bed!
In the morning, I am going straight to the office to have a few words with them. I
am freaked out of my apartment now, and getting more and more itchy just thinking about it. What a nightmare!
Now Im about to go check my child's room and bed, I really hope not to find any evidence.
We steamed our mattress with our steamer, and wiped and vacuumed everything a few times. We have a wood headboard and found some hiding out there... I am so revolted. Now I have to find 4 cans and fill them up with petroleum jelly to fit under each of our bed legs.

Yeah we just got our apartment sprayed. They are still here and still spreading! It would have been nice to know they were spreading from the laundry before this happened.
I had to throw out my entire bed + furniture.
They seem to be spreading through the walls too because I saw them come from under the baseboard
Will try spraying alcohol under there.
This is BS because they should tell people that this is happening so we can take steps to protect our apartment before we get infested
not after. I didnt even know they existed until now.

20 Sewells Rd is a multi-unit dwelling consisting of approximately 100 apartments.
During the year of 2008, there were numerous apartment infestations within the building that seem to be limited to the 3rd and 4th floors.
They seem to also spread through the laundry room and are rapidly making their way through the building.
PCO ORKIN makes many many visits but the problems persists.
The building management have not notified the tenants of the building that there is a outbreak of bed
bugs in the building. Consequently tenants only become aware when they are infested!
diatomaceous earth around the apartment before you become infested will help keep those little buggers away. As well if you are infested walmart sells dust mite alergy mattress covers that will keep those buggers from getting out, vacuum wash spray with 90% rubbing alcohol in cracks and crevices and you will get them under control fast. Alcohol = instant death to these buggers
Good luck.
