Nice to know that the superintendants. Of course people are going to report anonymously, what do you expect?
We lived on the third floor and after we got bed bugs we learned that the building was infested -- and this was over a year ago (not recently as the superintendant's post claims); this has been an ongoing issue for over three years at least. The supers wouldn't believe us unless we showed them a live one. They told us that it wasn't a problem in the building, while at the same time
other tenants in the building knew otherwise.
At certain points, there were even mattresses left inside the underground garage, with a "do not take" sign on it, and everyone had to pass it to get inside the building. There is just bad management here.

CONTINUED FROM BELOW
One unit on the ninth floor has reported maybe five bugs and has been treated diligently from day one. That is it in this building and if you don't believe me on this day November 22 go door-to-door an ask. I AM TIRED OF PEOPLE MAKING UP LIES.
I have an RARE roach report which my pest guy also said can be brought home from the grocery store in the boxes that people use NO INFESTATIONS THANK YOU. WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH MICE WHEN THEY TORE DOWN QUEEN VICTORIA'S SCHOOL AND
REBUILT IT -NEVER HAD A MOUSE SINCE THEN THANK YOU. And sawtoothed
beetles ? I've never had my Pest guy treat for those- from what I've heard, they come in flour and rice. Next thing, we will be Burned at the stake for the occasional spider.
Also to one of the earlier reports -125 Forest IS NOT HOMESTEAD, HENCE INCORRECT REPORTING AT ITS FINEST!!! I detest bedbugs. But the only way they come in is by hitchhiking on a person's clothing or article. Say hide hence it usually takes more than one treatment. BE INFORMED AND ALWAYS LOOKING AND TREAT BEFORE YOU MOVE OR YOU TAKE THEM WITH YOU!!! Explain that one to grandma

FIRST OF ALL THIS SITE IS NOT COMPLETELY FAIR. WHO KNOWS IF THESE TENANTS WHO ARE REPORTING COULD HAVE BEEN EVICTED AND ARE ANGRY AND LASHING BACK.
I am the superintendent here and unlike many other people I am not going to use ANONYMOUS for my report!
I inform my tenants the day they view an apartment that there have been bed bugs here and if any apartment building in Hamilton has told them they've never had them they are probably 99.9% lying.
RIGHT NOW , TODAY, There is an infestation
in 1 apartment on the 4th floor. By infestation, I mean more than one or two bugs. This is no fault of myself or Jordan and Williamson. The tenant did not inform us of the problem and was actually squishing them on the walls. I will not give the exact apartment number for privacy reasons. But I will tell you one thing it is right next to my apartment and I am Stressed. We have already gotten bedbugs not infested mind you 3 to 5 of them from the unit below us who did not prepare properly was treated 8 to 10 times and didn't care

The 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 8th floor have all had multiple infestations in the last 2 years; every couple of months you hear of something else, and the exterminator contracted for this site must make a fortune worthy of retirement. Bed bugs are not the only form of pestilence reported in the building either, cockroaches, mice and saw-tooth beetles have been reported also. Although the issues are EVENTUALLY dealt with, only the reported unit will be sprayed; the exterminator himself has said `the onl
y way to get rid of bedbugs is to spray the whole building because they live in the walls, power outlets and heating vents and will travel for "food"' which Jordan and Williamson property management will NOT pay for. Renter beware! Thankful I'm moving..

Just want to let everyone know that this building is not infested with bed bugs. A few is definitely not considered infested. The eighth floor is definitely not infested. I have heard that the third is.
To the person who wrote that tenants bring it in..sooooo correct. They are everywhere. Especially in places that are shared with lots of people...movie theatres, hotels..and hotels are not as clean as you think they are.

I live at 125 Forest. It is NOT infested with bed bugs. INFESTED is not a dozen bed bugs. I have seen pictures of infestation and I wish I could post a picture. People are bringing in USED furniture and items from garage sales which is a BIG reason for the bugs coming in. I have read an entire book on the new pest of the century.
THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THINK TWICE BEFORE SITTING ON THOSE DARK, FABRIC SEATS AT THE THEATRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARE YOU SAFE IN THAT HOTEL
???????????????
I also know that if you do not PREPARE properly...you will not get rid of them.
Then if you move...YOU TAKE THEM RIGHT TO YOUR NEW APARTMENT!!!!
THEY CAN GO WITHOUT BLOOD FOR A YEAR, HIDING! Blame the landlords all you want....they did not bring them into your unit...YOU DID-FROM SOMEWHERE

08/08/11- DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!!! Found a beg bug, brought it landlord and she said no, it wasn't a bedbug. Later that week, she had the bug guy in and he said yes it was a bedbug. She did not call me to inform me, my neighbour had called me instead. the landlord didn't give me any information on when my unit would be treated or how to prep for it. While away, i received a call from my neighbour again, not my landlord, explaining that my unit in fact wasn't treated because it wasn't prepped prope
rly. after a WEEK of not hearing from my landlord about what steps to take I finally called her for said information. The guy came to treat a week later. The day after treatment, I saw a bedbug on my wall and went to knock on my landlords door to see what i should do/expect, but was turned away because she was sleeping. They refuse to inform any of the tenants and the rental office lies to tenants and possible future tenants saying it was only one unit. I know for a fact it was at least 4. Thank GOD I'm moving!!!!!

Towards the end of June, on a Sunday, we discovered maybe a dozen of them on our mattress/boxspring (disposed of it immediately and laundered ALL cloth items that day). It was immediately reported to the superintendents to whom waited until Tuesday morning to call an exterminator, who then told us that treatment could not begin until the Thursday. After the initial treatment 2 weeks later a secondary one had to be preformed as 'follow-up' but it wasn't properly scheduled and was pushed back anot
her two days... 4 weeks later we have found yet another bug and discovered that several apartments surrounding us all had infestations as well, and yet the entire building is NOT being treated.
At LEAST the 8th, 5th, and 4th floor are infested, but that is from personal research; the supers are not being forthright with just how bad the situation really is, it's not exactly elevator conversation, so who knows just how out of control it really could be...

The building is infested with bedbugs, but the superintendants and rental office are not being honest with the tenants about the extent to which the bugs are present. They will tell the tenants that the occurrences are rare, but the exterminator is called to the building at least a few times a month to exterminate. Renter beware.
