DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!

All positive posts in this feed seems as if they are written by management attempting to dispel what people are saying about their experiences in the building on this site. I have lived in building 219 for about 5 months now and we have severe heat problems, mice, and roaches. I live in this building and i didnt know how bad it is. Noise , bad smell and bad isolation is every day thing. I just want to say if you are short with money and want to save some you should move here but if you have $100 extra to give a month i would advise you NOT to move here. Its up to you..bedbugs,noise,smell or your peace and quiet apartment.I am moving soon as possible

I agreed with the tenant who lived here 9 years. I never encounted bugs but there was some water problem before. After having new boilers and pumps been fixed we have no problem. I do agreed with the past management was rude and difficult to deal with but not the new management very friendly and easy to approach. Our family live here 17 years and we treated this place as our home.

I lived here for 9 years and never had any bug problems. It's disturbing to see that false statements are mentioned about where I lived for 9 years. I never encounted any vomit or approached or seen any drugs dealings. Do not believe everything you read, it is a nice place to live.

The 201 Bell St North Building is managed by the building owner with effect from Oct 1st, 2012 and the new management team will work together with the tenants to get rid all the bugs. However, bed bugs are human-carrier bugs and one can be possibly contacted in public areas, like movie theatres, buses, trains, hospitals, motels/hotels (even 5 or 6 stars hotels) and even the Huge Macy department store in New York. So, let's see, we have reports of NO BEDBUGS, and then lots of other people have them.

Ironically enough the comments that are NO BEDBUGS are all around the same date for 201, 211, 219 Bell Street. Keep this in mind if you are reading these comments. I'm guessing this is just management trying to manage their losses.

I am really appreciating everyones comments and so greatful for information shared on the internet. I viewed a rennovated suite today and was considering the pros and cons....now I know not to live here. I was surprised when I was being shown around that they seemed to barge into people's apartments to show them without notice....I thought there needs to be 24 hours notice ....

I work in the administration office and these posts are ridiculous. We take pest control very seriously. All pest control issues reported to the office are dealt with within 1 week and we perform regular preventative maintenance. Anyone who says they had a pest problem that was not dealt with, did not report it to the office.

MOST IMPORTANT
I can confidently say, we DO NOT have bed bugs in 201, 211 or 219 Bell.

This building is absolutely infested with cockroaches. I am an obsessively clean person, and I mean obsessive. I change my garbage nearly daily, and very rarley have more than a single glass or a plate on the counter. I recently moved out of this building due to a number of issues however approximately 3 months before I moved I was finding a cockroach nearly every day. The last person who said her friend told her about this site, and that she has lived on building 201 is not a tenant and does not live on the apartment building is no other person than Kathy Bathowski, the property manager. My friend told me about this site so icame on to see. I've lived at 201 for around 4 years and never had a problem with any kind of bug, but am sure that if idid it would get taken care of cause any time i need something fixed it's always done right away. While my unit doesn't have bed bugs there are at least a couple of units nearby that do. I've been spraying raid around the baseboards, doorway, in the cupboards, etc. twice a day to try to keep them out. I have not had begbugs, but the units around me do and I fear it's just a matter of time. I also don't have the 600 dollars that they want you to pay for treatment of your unit, even though it's their issue. I never encountered bedbugs in my unit, but there was an INSANE roach infestation on my floor. This is the worst apartment to live in, in the whole city of Ottawa. Don't be fooled by the ads online!! There are always bugs even if you keep your apartment spotless. By seeing the locality and the areas surroundings, I preferred this apartment and planned to live for a long period atleast a year. I just viewed an apartement here last week. The apartment I saw was newly renovated and gorgeous. I'm planning to move in January 1 and I'm very excited. This place seems so amazing. I had bedbugs for a year at 201 and it was the worst experience of my life. I never went to the office because of the horror stories that other people had (the landlord was making them pay for everything, humiliating them in the lobby etc.) so I just moved and it was the best decision of my life.
