Living on second floor for about one year. Initially encountered cockroaches in unit but landlord called exterminator and no more roaches in kitchen or bathroom. Saw a roach in hallway after and garbage chute but not in apartment. Not too long ago entire building was inspected and treated for cockroaches. A few months later I had the displeasure of meeting up with the most popular pest in Ottawa bed bugs at night. They wake you up and I get red welts everywhere. Reported problem three times

Moved here from BC and have never seen a bed bug before in my life! This is also the first time I have seen cockroaches in person.
We bought all new furniture from Ikea to furnish our apartment only to have it infested with bedbugs. Have had the bedbug problem for probably two months now. It is driving me crazy and turning me into a paranoid and jumpy person. I have done huge cleaning hauls a few times but it doesn't seem to help much.

Let me explain my problem and how it got solved. We had cockroaches in the kitchen 2 years ago. We asked the management to help and they did an excellent job. Since then, we didn't encounter the same problem. So my advice to those who have similar problem is to speak to the management. I hope this will solve your problem. And by the way, they didn't charge us anything.

Im the same trouble, you pay o lot of money for bugs and no clean, elevators always out of service,im living on 14th floor with cockroaches running every where in the house. Im tired off!!!

we have been dealing with this management since they started a yr or so ago. They are rude, don't answer question timely. They want to charge you fees for every little thing that the previous management was able to deal with timely and without cost. The appartments, elevators, hall ways stairs are unclean. we have had bed bugs, reported them and gotten the treatment with no improvement. They do not do follow ups or clean the property properly. we have thrown out all of our furniture twice alrea

We live in 18 th Floor. This is one of the worst apartment building in Ottawa. Management keeps their blind eye on issues. They do not care what you say. Roaches are everywhere and hallway, elevator and every single place in the building are terribly dirty. This is certainly not a place to live. Is paramount property owner a big shot of the government??

I live in 1525 Alta Vista Drive and my apartment has been infested since I moved in. The landlord has been informed of the issue and they are willing to bring in professionals to spray the place, but on my dime. They expect me to pay for the treatment of an infestation that was already existent prior to my moving in. Is this some sort of a joke? I am still dealing with the management to resolve this invoice issue for $250 plus taxes and have not got the apartment sprayed.

Good luck to you anonymous, just make sure that whatever you bring with you has been inspected and packed carefully. Pest Guard is a company that has a bed bug sniffing dog and I believe they can have the dog come by and inspect your belongings as you move to ensure you don't bring them with you.

Fumigator only comes once a week, but this gives you time to do the massive preparations necessary for fumigation. A total nightmare! Had to strip the place bare.

Lost thousands of dollars of furniture, clothing, etc. We are not replacing these things until we've moved to a new place. We will probably just contract them again. (This building is apparently infested...)

Building also has ROACHES. Had them in this unit twice now. Fumigator

I first reported the bed bug siting to the Property Management on December 15th, 2008. They said they could not spray until the following Monday. I lost $5000.00 worth of furniture and clothing, bedding not included in price. I have a sample of the bed bug for proof.
