Country Lake Apartments on 09/02/2010
Country Lake Apartments is taking the local bed bug issue very seriously and I would like to reassure residents that we act immediately when a new report or even the possibility of activity is identified. My team and I are keeping a close watch on the inside of homes and will quickly take action on any potential bed bug outbreaks. The majority of outbreak cases at our community have been resolved and the remainder of the issues reported are currently being treated.
We are working intensiv
ely with Orkin pest control to stay on top of the situation and to take their professional advice on treatment. Unfortunately, many businesses in the area are experiencing the same problems. The local news has reported that Cincinnati and surrounding area has been ranked the fourth highest affected region for bed bugs in the United States.
Part of our on going plan to continue to maintain this problem is to perform preventive treatments for normal pests in any vacant homes, during time which we actively look for bed bugs along with Orkin pest control service. We are also providing current residents with detailed preparation lists to anticipate the correct way to receive effective treatment for any problems. In addition, we conduct after treatment management by following up with another inspection along with the pest control service to confirm that there is no further activity.
All of our residents are signing a pest control addendum at the time of move in and also at lease renewal which identifies their responsibility for such treatments and we make sure to explain this to them. We are working to educate residents with documents from the National Apartment Association about bedbugs, and the community management is regularly asking our pest control services about their chemicals and for updates on the most effective treatment options. Until the EPA approves chemicals that are more effective in treatment we will continue to work very hard along side our pest control service provider to eradicate the problem.
