d son started complaining of red itchy bites all over his legs, elbows & arms. The bites looked like mosquito bites. Then my 11 year old daughter & 14 year old son started complaining of the same bites. I myself started experiencing little bites too. I didnt see any mosquitos around.....something just told me to google in PICTURES OF BEDBUGS. I dont know why the thought came into my head. A few days later, i was in my sons room cleaning & changing their bed sheets, when i pulled the fitted sheet off the corner of the mattress (the mattress was new, 3 months old), BOOM....i saw about five bedbuds clustered on the corner of the mattress. I started screaming....i couldnt believe my eyes. I called my husband & son & we immediately threw the mattress out the door in the garbage. A few days later, i saw another bedbug crawling across my leather sectional ( the sofabed part), i threw out half of my couch.Over the next month or so ( September/October, my family continued to get painful red itchy bites all over our bodies. I didnt see any traces of bedbugs....i cleaned & cleaned constantly & disinfected my home. I washed & washed all the clothes & bedding with hot soapy water & dryed everything on high heat. But nothing seemed to work. We continued to get bitten. As of the last few weeks (Late November 2010), my husband & i are experiencing more & more bites every single night. I am now catching the little ctitters in my bedroom & on my bed in the middle of the night. I notified my landlord time & time again about bugs coming in my apartment, he basically blew me off for months. Now that i told my lanlord that i was sure that the bugs were bed bugs, he came with a exterminator and they looked around my apartment, checked one of my kids beds, my couch, my bed & they claimed that they couldnt find anything or any traces of bedbugs, despite the fact that i showed them the bites on my arms & the pictures of the bites on my kids arms & legs. They told me to try to catch one of the bedbugs next time as proof & they will come back to exterminate. My landlord believes that the bites my family is getting is from my new 6 month old Jack Russel puppy ( fleas), which i know is not true. My landlord has already complained to me about the exterminating fees to rid bedbugs. Within the last two weeks, i was able to catch 9 bedbugs & ive put them in a small little bottle to keep as proof. Lastnight (December 1, 2010), i went to Bed Bath & Beyond & purchased 4 zippered mattress protecters ( made out of heavy gauge, hypoallergenic vinyl)and put them on the mattresses. I also bought for $10, a bottle of this solution called REST EASY to rid/kill/repel Bedbugs. I sprayed the solution everywhere, on my bed, around my bed, my headboard, pillows, baseboards. I changed the linen on my bed & this morning to my suprise ( December 2, 2010 @ 6am this morning) i jumped out of my sleep and saw a little red Bedbug crawling across my pillow.I have 2 little red bites on my cheek, a bite on my arm, a bite on my stomach & ankle. I cant believe this.......i called my lanlord & i havent recieved a response from him yet. I dont know what to do anymore.....the situation is out of control & i cant afford a exterminater......my childen & i are being ate alive in here.....im paranoid to sleep at night, especially in my bed, i walk around my house all thru the night, while my family is sleeping, checking their beds and under the pillows. I just found out thru neighbors a few days ago, that two other houses in my neighborhood, on the same side of the street as my apartment was infested with Bedbugs & the landlords of those apartments, just did a basic cleaning of the apartments and rented the apartments to two new families without exterminating first. These people have no clue whats going on or what they are in for. I feel sorry for them. I myself look like a zombie in the daytime..... I HAVENT HAD A PEACEFUL GOODNIGHTS SLEEP IN MONTHS...IM WORN OUT & EXHAUSETED!!!!!!Help....
