Our first bed bug problem occurred in winter of 2012 which was treated by an exterminator with only one visit. We have not seen bed bugs until just recently (mid August 2012) and had the exterminator come again, but this time the landlord had hired a different one who came twice, ensuring that all corners were treated. After thorough cleaning and washing bed sheets, clothes, dry cleaning pillows and covers, and two visits from exterminator, we thought it was finally over, but we were wrong. Just
a few weeks after the second treatment (September 10, 2012) we found another bed bug in the same exact area where they first appeared. The bed bug infestation at this building seems to be an ongoing issue which needs to be dealt with differently - all apartments are under attack and the only way to get rid of bed bugs is to treat all apartments at once. This is serious, people can't sleep!

For the past 2 1/2 years we have been fighting bedbug infestation in this apartment building. I personally have had to have all of my carpet removed and had to throw out 2 couches. The landlord, after a very shaky start, began treating the apartments but not properly. By this I mean if you reported bedbugs he would send for the exterminator and they would treat your apartment. But, they did NOT treat the apartments over you, or under you or next door to you. So, the bedbugs that survived and
they do survive, went into the walls and got into one of the other apartments. And when those tenants reported infestations the exterminator came and treated those apartments, again, one by one. The problem will never go away because of this.
