There was an infestation in a nearby apartment. It was not disclosed to the neighboring apts. and the problem spread to several other apts. The problem took almost 4 months to eradicate. In the process the mandated guidelines were not followed especially the alternatives to chemical treatment as the first option.
The chemicals used were so toxic it literally stripped the paint from the walls of every room treated. This became a total nightmare as management continued to not follow mandated g

uidelines for the treatment of bed bugs. The board decided to take a back seat and let mgmnt. continue, which ended up costing the co-op thousands. There were agreements made to repair the damaged walls. The agreement was never fully honored to all the apts. affected and the work that was done was done left a situation that was worse than the actual damage. The problem started in early February and the repair issue is ongoing as we're now in September.

I have been notified that a neighboring apartment has an infestation. An exterminator came and treated some, but not all, adjoining units. It appears to be spreading to untreated apartments.
