I do not detect the problem is "out of control" infestation, it is however, present.

The building hosts renovated, rent stabilized apartments (at least mine is), the neighbors are generally very cool.

My advice, if you love the building like I do--the problem is not worth running away from--you could feasibly encounter this same issue anywhere at any time, at least the folks in this building seem to care about thwarting it, and are making efforts to do so...but much of the onus is on the apartment dweller, as they can't do your due-diligence for you.

Clean well weekly, wash your clothes weekly, (This helps any possible newly-introduced eggs from hatching--as eggs typically hatch in a week to 12 days.)

Also, keep diatomaceous earth around the seam where your walls/baseboards and floors meet) as well as around the legs of your bed and plush furniture.

You shouldn't have too much of an issue if you do this due-diligence.

BTW, I am on the 6th fl, I know my neighbor below me on 5 has had some as well, but we are both now (seeming) bug-free having taken these measures.
