We woke up with skin welts for a couple days and realized we probably had bed bugs. Upon further inspection, we found a live bed bug in our metal bedframe. Gross! Our apartment is clean and uncluttered, so we think we must have brought it in from traveling or from another apartment in the building. We reported it to our management company and they are dealing with it. We are also going to report it to our local government officials.
