Hello, this is actually Michael from 3R. Someone posted a false report on here; we have only lived here since March. Not two years. I DO know the girls downstairs that the previous poster mentioned, and personally saw a much worse bedbug outbreak downstairs in their apartment, on Top of the obvious smell of mold in the walls down there and we have witnessed several times the said girls bailing gallons and gallons of water out of their apartment, Almost every time it rains. Their place is gro
und level and the rain drainage system out back just doesn't work, which causes their apartment to flash flood when a decent storm rolls in. Our windows gushed water when it rained until after over a month of texts and calling and contractors just not showing up, the mentioned landlord sent someone out to caulk the windows. That didnt work, so after a few more weeks of losing personal property from rain damage the rental company covered a giant hole in the side of the building with a piece of wood, which for the time being is holding the water out.
I think it's incredibly shady that someone would make a post to try and save company face over clearly obvious legit reports of problems caused by and due to half-assed attempts at keeping paying tenants paying. It says a lot about whoever posted claiming to be someone their not. Since my original post, our apartment and building has been sprayed four times. The first company they used, again, did a half-assed job, and we still had bedbugs. The newer company seems to know what they are doing and we havent had any bedbug problems since. As for vouching for the character of a landlord, well that's not what this forum is for and I simply wont do it. The building has problems, and bedbugs is undoubtedly at the top of our (the ACTUAL TENANTS) priority list.

The below comment is obviously the landlord pretending to be a tennant. Nice try. The landlord actually did hire the exterminator suggested after several arguments and threats of not paying rent. Ask any current resident who has lived in this building for at least a year about their experience before moving in. They will tell you everything.

Hi,
i am Michael living in that building for about 2 years, while its true that we had a bedbug problem the landlord took care of it immediately & hired a lic. exterminator to take care of the whole building at once, & we never had an issue since then,
I know the tenants on the 1st fl. & im not exactly sure if they had a problem recently to pay rent or any other issue with the landlord, but what you are reading here is probably not true, i know that both tenants were living there for more
then a year (they renewed their lease after a year) so i dont think that they had a "huge" problem here,
the Landlord is actually one of the nicest ones i have met since i move to the city about 5 years ago,
hes an honest person & very straight forward,

I was laying in bed when I saw something crawling on my comforter and killed it. Upon further inspection (and a lot of research online), I saw that it was, without a doubt, an adult bedbug. I called an exterminator who will be coming over tomorrow first thing in the morning.

We also live at 163 Harman street, and for the last month (June 2011) have been waking up with 20-40 bites every morning, mostly covering our legs and ankles. At first we thought they were flea bites, as we and our neighbor across the hall have a cat. After thorough research and speaking with several different local exterminators we found that it was in fact Bed Bugs. Aside from the bugs, which have recently become a MAJOR problem, we also have windows that POUR water in, not leak, when it ra
ins. The walls are also infested with squirrels- I heard something in the wall last week and started hitting the floorboards below the window, within seconds four squirrels popped out just outside where i was pounding and we watched and videotaped them run down the 3rd floor fire escape. I have lived in much worse conditions, but this is by far the worst outbreak of the little vampires(bed bugs) I have ever seen.As of 30 minutes ago, our landlord is sending out an exterminator, but if it doesnt resolve the problem we will undoubtedly be breaking our lease early and getting the hell out of this building. Like the other poster from 1L mentioned, dont let the new appliances and wide open spaces of the apartment fool you, this building (163 Harman street) is crawling with bed bugs.

May 2011. I lived in apartment 1L until a little while ago. The building is infested with bed bugs and the landlord will not take care of them. You can see hundreds of them crawling out of the electrical sockets and living in the walls. The landlord is Keter Residency LLC. They stole 2 months rent plus deposit as we had to break our lease because the place was uninhabitable since they would not fix the constant flooding, toxic mold outbreak and bed bug infestation. Don't let the stainless
steel appliances and granite countertop fool you - this place has major problems.
