After signing a lease for the apartment on the second floor (the three story building has two residential units and a comercial space on the ground floor) we hired a handyman to do some work around the place. The handyman informed us he saw bedbugs in every room of the apartment during the course of his work (8/19/11). The handyman was able to make this i.d. based on previous experience with bedbugs in his own home. We brought this up with the landlord who said that he would deal with this by s
etting off foggers in the apartment (8/21/11). We explained that this was not a sound solution and requested that he bring in professionals to evaluate the situation. The landlord refused to pay for a professional inspection. So we terminated the lease before moving into the apartment (8/23/11).
