I have been living in the building for a very long time, way before the new tenants moved in they were the ones who started bring used furniture from the street. They created the problem then wrapped their tails around them selfs as if they were not the cause. It's been about a year since the three tenants moved out. It's seems as if they took the bugs with them. There has not been a problem since they moved out. As for the house at 307 - 7th Street. They had their own proplem with a senoir ten
ant who has since been relocted that alone has also helped with the 305 location as well.
Sincerely,
Happy not having the tenants who created the problem in the first place!!!

Three out of 8 apartments are jumping ship. The landlord promised to relocate one of the tenants in order to adequately exterminate the problem apartment but, the tenant is still here. The problem will continue. Do not make the mistake we made and think it's ok. The bugs will be back if all isn't sealed, poly'd and exterminated.

We saw our first bug 5/16/09, and have not had a bed or a couch since that day. We have been living out of plastic bags, sleeping on air mattresses in what used to be the living room. Everything that wasn't thrown away is coated with white powder (poison from the exterminations). Our books and papers stay in bags at all times, and probably will for a very long time (I have found a couple of dead bugs in my files). At one point, my boyfriend found a bed bug in the SUGAR BOWL; it could have cr
awled into the (open) kitchen & gotten lost, or it could have fallen off his sleeve . . . After that, I bagged everything in our kitchen. No area felt totally safe. Although the physical hardship is coming to an end (because we moved), the psychological impact was literally TRAUMA. I no longer feel safe anywhere. I obsessively check mattresses in every hotel and house I stay in. I do whatever I can to avoid sitting on an upholstered chair in somebody's home. When I go to a friend's house, I put my bag & shoes in a plastic bag, even if the shoes AND the bag have just been washed&dried& we haven't been at 305 7th street for a week.
When we moved, we followed all the published guidelines on how to NOT bring the bugs with us . . . . I hope that the landlord does the SMART thing & doesn't rent the apartment before sealing the MANY holes&cracks he has been promising to seal, and taking care of the bed bug problem. I wouldn't wish this experience on ANYONE.

The landlord is unresponsive and the exterminator used, ‘Liberty’ placates their customers. There is no hope, everyone must jump ship. Many complaints have been made to HPD. Now both apartment building adjacent (307 and 303) have the problem.
Bitten and sickened on 07/08/2009
This infestation from 305 7th street is now affecting adjacent buildings - all 8 units of a neighboring, adjoining building are infested.
The owner of 305 7th street should be taken to court by his tenants and all affected neighbors. His lack of proper bedbug eradication is costing this block THOUSANDS $$$.

this building is infested. landlord and exterminator have tried to get rid of the bugs at least 4-5 times, but they return after just days. these seem to be superbugs, embedded into the walls, and they keep on hatching. not all apartments clean out, so bugs keep coming back.
we moved in without any bugs, and now leaving or throwing out almost all our furniture after 5 months.
we are angry that, as tenants, we were never told about the infestations. that we have had countless nights of no
t knowing where we might sleep. that we have countless, painful bites. try working a full day with this situation.
stay away. this seems un-fixable.

I moved into this building in January 2009. Clearly the landlord knew there was a problem and rented the apartment regardless. Needless to say, I came into this situation bug free, 3 months later, I am not and may have to discard of my new bed and couch. I have come to find out that all 8 units in this building are infested. It is a nightmare. We have had several visits from the exterminator and nothing seems to get rid of them. This situation should have been dealt with a year earlier when the
initial complaints began. What to do? Move?

I live in the same building. Perhaps if the landlord told us all about them and it was treated throughout the building, I wouldn't be at this website now. Yes, we have bedbugs now.

We have been dealing with this situation for over a year. The landlord has it professionally treated but no luck... What can we do???????????
