I submitted the report in November 2011. Cautiously happy to update that--fingers crossed--the bugs appear to be gone. Landlord was quick to respond and offered to treat apt. with a licensed pest control company. The pest control company seemed "middle of the road" judging by the reviews I read online, so I chose to have apartment treated by the exterminator of my choice, at my own expense. Just discovered bedbugs in my apartment (saw something running across the bedspread which led me to check the mattress seams--no mistaking them). Have already left email and phone messages for landlord. At tenant moved out earlier this summer leaving their mattress outside---at the time, it gave me a sinking feeling. It appears that feeling was justified. Will update as to how landlord responds to situation.
