One apartment on the third floor in October discovered bed bugs on mattresses and bed frames. Landlord negotiated with tenants for two weeks the terms of hiring a professional. Management was not responsive for 3 days from initial report. Exterminator came in after tenants prepared belongings as instructed. He sprayed poison and tenants had to evacuate premises for a day, which they were not compensated for. Because the apartment is rent stabilized, not much has been done on behalf of the tenant
s, including painting, floor, and general maintenance. Bathroom ceiling fell through on 11/30/2012. Relationship with apartment ended 12/1/2012. Presumably the bedbugs had been eliminated by 12/1/2012.
