My husband and I have lived in this building for 4 years and have never had a problem with bedbugs. We occasionally see other bugs but our cats make short work of them. The exterminator has also never entered our apartment.

Bedbugs run rampant in this building. The landlord does not do enough to protect his building. He hates hearing complaints and spending money. Anyone who has been persuaded to move in this building, I strongly recommend you save yourself the hassle and rent another place. Been here many years and very disgusted.

I've lived in this building on the fifth floor for 4 years now and we've never had a problem with bugs, of any kind. We never let the exterminator in either so I've always felt that the super does a good job keeping it clean.

I think there may be some false alarms in this building too. My apartment has some spider beetles, which look a lot like bedbugs but are harmless. well i got a call from management a few days ago that an apartment here reported bedbugs. Just today they came with a dog to sniff for them in that apartment and the apartments surrounding it (which included mine) and nothing was found. I've never had any bites nor seen any bugs in my apartment. However they can be anywhere - clothing stores, laudromats, hotels, etc. I recommend using vinyl mattress encasements, (the good ones which run around $80) for both your mattress and box spring. still haven't heard anything. i say "no news is good news" though i will be the first to organize a building-wide protest if they come back! i recommend being vigilant in your apt and making sure you chaulk holes, keep it free of clutter, etc.

I know of at least five people besides myself who have bedbugs in this building. The landlord has been less than helpful to those who have spoken up. Some people haven't told the management company. I am at my wits end. Supposedly NYC is creating a bedbug task force. Maybe they can have landlords help their tenants - who pay way more rent than they should to live in bug infested buildings.

Crying from bugs on 09/26/2009

We still have Bed Bugs!!!!! I posted in March, and the problem started before then. Plus they are jacking up our rent. The entire building needs to be treated or the problem will not go away.
I have had skin infections and spent so much money on the doctor, plastic bins, and dealing with these bugs.

About 2 months ago, I started getting bites. Had an exterminator - confirmed bed bugs. Now fighting infestation - on my 3rd extermination! Hearing a lot of complaints - this building may be infested!

I reported bed bugs to my landlord about 5 months ago. After much "discussion" he got me exterminators. He said "I don't know how you would get them," said I wanted to be sprayed to make me feel better psychologically, and also accused me of just wanting him to spend $400.
I do have a bed bug in my freezer in a bag to prove I have had them, and am taking pictures of my welts.
