I am on the board of this co-op and I have not heard of a single bedbug report in this building in the six years I have lived here.

turns out there were never any bedbugs. had both the building exterminator check and paid a reputable outside exterminator out of pocket to come in and do a three hour inspection just in case. he said he'd bet his reputation that there were never any bedbugs in the apartment.

I should also note that I have not received any notice from the management company or the stock holder of my co-op unit about the problem. I don't know whether the common areas have been inspected and/or treated.

While I was walking through the lobby this week (Sept. 9, 2009), I overheard a woman who lives in my building tell the super that an exterminator treated her apartment, but that she still has bedbugs. I was surprised when I heard this because while the building is old, it's a very well maintained co-op. When the woman asked the super whether any other apartments had the problem, the super said no.
