Two apartments that I know of on the fifth floor of my building have bed bugs, apparently for some time. An exterminator came on August 8, 2009, but I cannot be certain that he was fumigating for bed bugs specifically. Nor did the building management notify me that there was a bed bug infestation or provide information on how to protect against and prevent spread of bed bugs from apartment to apartment.
