February 2009: My office paid for its employees to have their homes checked for bedbugs by sending a bedbug sniffing dog to our apartments. The dog found bedbugs in my and my roommates rooms and our family room. We did not tell the landlord as we were afraid that we would be penalized, but we had exterminators come. We went through the whole process of bagging everything up, taking stuff to the dry cleaner, etc, and the exterminator came and sprayed the apt. They also steam cleaned the beds
