On September 2 one of the roommates discovered bites and found a bug in her room. It's now more than two months later, and our apartment is in trash bags again for our FIFTH TREATMENT. We were "treated" by an unqualified exterminator several times, and at least 5 units in our building are infected. We had no warning whatsoever from the landlord.
The real kicker is that we don't have an infestation. Since the first visit from the "exterminator" we've been told that we don't have a problem. Beca
use we're paranoid we're constantly checking our things, and bugs keep coming into two of the three bedrooms in our apartment - most likely through the brick walls that face an apartment next door that has not been examined. It is outrageous that we have taken every precautionary measure possible and are STILL, two months and five treatments later, having bugs get in. Probably not a good idea to look to reside at either 540 or 536 on 5th Street.

The building has been hit with bedbugs in at least five different apartment units with no warning from the landlord that bugs were in the building. Our primary infestation was small and caught early, but was treated by an unqualified exterminator. Because of this, we've been forced to pack all of our belongings into trash bags and undergo a spraying for the second time in as many months.
N.B.: If you're considering buying one of those expensive mattress covers that promises protection from be
dbugs, DON'T. The only bed in our apartment that has bedbugs was using one of these.
