BEDBUG VICTIM on 06/13/2011
I moved in to this apartment on September of 2010. I had absolutely no problems in this community until march of 2011. A lot of bugs started to move in to my apartment without paying rent, I started to itch and get bites all over my body, I contacted the leasing office and explained to them what I was experiencing, the office told me that the exterminators comes once a week only(Thursdays).
When the professional exterminators came, they treated the apartment for ants and spiders, and noted on
my paper work that there was absolutely no traces of bed bugs. The following days the bugs were still all over the apartment, and I was still getting bitten, so I called the office again and once more they said that the exterminators could only come back the following Thursday. I could not wait so I went to Home Depot and bought some Pest Control stuff, and exterminated the bugs my self. The ants and spiders disappeared , and so did the bed bugs for some time. When the exterminator finally came back I had one Beg Bug "SAMPLE" ready for them, just to show them that they were "ABSOLUTELY" wrong about not having any bed bugs here. A few months passed by with no contact from the exterminators, and finally on June 8th, I got a letter, From Court, Royal Crest Estates was trying to get an order of compliance so that I could get the apartment ready for treatment. Were they serious??? I contacted them for a solution, and now I was the one not complying?? So I contacted the office to see what the letter from court was about, and a girl told me that it was because the exterminator had made three attempts to exterminate the apartment and I had failed to follow their directions, I told her that no one had been here to exterminate the apartment other than the other two times that I had called, and that the first time they were here, "WE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO TRACES OF BED BUGS" and then the follow up after I had called them again because the extermination had not worked. The girl from the office stated that they were going to evict me for not complying, and that I had caused damage to the community. Pure fabricated lies. I am the one suffering damages not only materially, but mentally from all the bites and stress caused by the infestation that according to the last resident was here before I moved in. I contacted their lawyers and after i Mentioned that there was already a report on this registry about the infestation in this building, decided to contact his client "ROYAL CREST ESTATES" they have since canceled the court date, the girl from the office said that I was going to be liable for all the extermination expense in the building. Be Aware. People are extremely nice until you sign that lease. After that they will use everything they can to take advantage of you. Even thou that problem already existed, they pretended I was the one who created the problem so that I could foot the bill.

We moved to into the apartment in early March, by June I had the most horrible bites that lasted for weeks. I went to my doctor and they said it was from spiders. I work accross the hall from the BOH and had a feeling it could be bedbugs so I had a BOH inspecter come out to the property. It was not spiders it was bedbugs. The managment company was horrible to deal with, they did not have the exterminator come regualerly and by the end of July I could no longer stay at the apartment because I was
being eaten alive (my boyfriend never got one single bite, we're not sure why but I've heard of this happening to other people as well). I had to break my lease, throw away all of my furnature (about $6000.00 worth) treat all my belongings that could be treated and move. It was a dreadful experience, physically, financially and emotionally draining.
