The tenant In apartment #2 is a frequent dumpster diver and a major hoarder. She has lived at the residence for about 2-3 years. About 2 months ago the tenants on either side of her apartment started to notice bug bites that were more itchy than mosquito bites. Then the tenants in both surrounding apartments saw mature bed bugs in their residences. From there they informed the landlord of the problem. The landlord didn't find it a big enough concern so the tenants took it upon themselves to repo
rt the incident to the health department. About two weeks later the landlord sent in an "exterminator" who does extermination on the side. He did a quick and un-thorough extermination. It seemed like it was an attempt for the landlord to just appease the tenants since after the man sprayed the bugs came back with a vengeance. It's also important to mention that the landlord failed to inform the tenants of their apartments being sprayed until they showed up at their door. The "exterminator" came back in 2 weeks where yet again the landlord failed to inform the tenants until he knocked on their door. A week later the health department showed up at the apartments and questioned the tenants. Then finally the landlord informed the tenants of the future extermination that was about to occur week later. Yet again after the extermination the bugs came back with a vengeance. To make matters worse the tenant where all this has started from has taken it upon herself to take out (with the assistance of her friend and the tenants in building 2006 apartment #3 who also have the bugs in their apartment) all of her belongings into the courtyard in front of the 2008 and 2006 and "clean" them. She also dragged her belongings to all the dumpsters where she overfilled them. She has also repeatedly refused for her apartment to be bombed and sprayed. She is being served an eviction notice on 9/1/10. Hopefully the bed bug situation will be taken under control- from what I've heard there's many more apartments within the property which are infested.
