Experienced an infestation in July, I believe they were dormant from the last tenant, or the apartment above us who had them last year. Landlord treated our apartment but did not notify other tenants in neighboring units.

We moved in 5/1/10 and I immediately experienced what I now know were bed bug bites. Apparently I have an allergic reaction and with enough bites I get infected with cellulitis. So after many doctors visits in one month, an ER visit and a skin biopsy, we finally knew it was bed bugs. We reported the infestation to our landlord, who had the apartment treated but after treatment I still experienced bites and visually saw bed bugs. We're currently trying to get out of our lease, I can't continue to
