i must give it up for the janitors, they are quick to act but no resolution has come, i have a 5 month old baby, had to throw away my matress and box spring and his baby bed, majority of all of our wardrobe and our furniture as well. as many others have stated they are NOT going away...going broke trying to get ride of them and yet nothing has happened. NOT only are they not certified to be spraying chemicals they just come in and state that its safe to breathe give it an hour....i think profess

ionals should be doing this because the bugs are not going anywhere, there in the floor boards cracks hallways...etc.

i want my lease voided. a.s.a.p

Yes, I live here too, and yep I have bed bugs that came through a hole in the floor from the apartment underneath. We have had this problem for months now--5 if not more. During this time we have bought mattress and box spring protectors, have been changing and washing the sheets and other bedding EVERY DAY, and even have cups with poison on each leg of the bed so supposedly bed bugs can't crawl onto the bed without dying (which obviously is not the case). They treat, but it doesn't do anythi

ng. I am fed up and looking for a new apartment to move to now, but I am freaked that I will carry them with us. One thing that's for sure is that the management doesn't do enough to get rid of them. They blow money on poison that doesn't do anything. Last night I found a couple of bugs with white powder poison that they gave us that is supposed to kill them, but it doesn't do anything; they just happily crawl around. If it comes to other maintenance issues, they do well, but I CANT LIVE LIKE THIS ANYMORE. I feel like they have had enough time to get rid of them, and it doesn't look like anything will improve. I would not recommend anyone moving into this building.

The bedbugs from June are still present now in August. The management still refusing to call exterminators.

What management has not been vigilant about is contacting professional exterminators. They would rather blame their tenants and the age and condition of the building that they own when taking care of bedbugs is THEIR responsibility. Would you want a landlord like that?

In fairness, the maintenance personnel go into hyperdrive when told about the bedbugs. So, it's not from a lack of response to tenant concerns. The reality is that, given the area and the nature of its population (and street people), there's probably not too much you can do, even when management is vigilant about the problem (as they are).

In a building this old and large there are ALWAYS going to be bedbug problems (unless they bring back DDT, which is not going to happen, unfortunately). W

hile some tenants are vigilant, others don't report or, worse, don't care. The don't-care types are the breeding ground (no pun intended) for bedbugs that bother other tenants.

We'll see if it can be brought under control. However, given the neighborhood I doubt it. As I said, it's not due to the management of the building which is EXTREMELY responsive when told of these problems.

my apt is 507 and apt is full of them i told manigment on 5 ocations last sighting on 7/27/2011

I reported bedbugs to management in early June. Several treatments later, the problem was just as bad. I also found a friend of a friend in the building with bedbugs, and the treatments were not working for her as well. The building engineer has been treating units all along my floor, but they STILL haven't gone away!
