We would like to add that there was no actual proof that bed bugs were transported from the carpet cleaners. People in this building did not all move out within 8 months because of bed bugs. This building has all the same occupants for the past three years but one apartment that moved because of a job transfer. These people who wrote this report failed to mentioned how helpful management was in paying for the entire service, which is unusual for a management company to do. These people also
forgot to mention that managment also reimbursed them for everything they spent on this problem. They were well taken care considering the circumstances. It is good to point out the good in a bad situation
Bugged in Downers Grove on 02/14/2009
In September, 2008, I had knee surgery, so I slept on the couch in the living room for a couple of weeks. I started noticing red spots on the sheet I was using. It turned out to be bed bugs. We had had our carpeting cleaned by a service used by the apartment complex. I think the bugs were transported that way. We reported it to management. They claimed that they didn't know anything about a bed bug problem. The tenants in our building have all moved out within the past 8 months. It turn
s out that this was a problem throughout the building, as well as other buildings in the complex. Management finally exterminated the entire building, and so far there haven't been any more. However, we had to throw out furniture and bedding because of the infestation. I wish there was some recourse for what we went through.
