We moved into 5513 Aurora Ave #30 on April 22nd, 2011. First discovered bug on Saturday April 23rd, 2011. We thought it was a tick, burned it and threw it out the balcony. I kept getting bit over the next two days. Tuesday, I went to a doctor for the bites. The doctor diagnosed it as scabies. I treated my body with Permetherin cream. I showed my bites to a coworker of mine who is a nurse. She believed I need a second opinion. I called my apartment manager and told her what the doctor said. She c
onfessed to me that they had treated my apartment for bed bugs before we moved in. I went to a walk in clinic on Wednesday at 5 pm April 27th. The doctor diagnosed me with bed bug bites. That night, I captured a live bug in a sealed plastic baggie. I took this specimen over to the manager on Thursday morning 4/28. She and her maintenance worker confirmed that the specimen was a bed bug. An exterminator also confirmed this. They are scheduled to treat our apartment and belongings Saturday April 30th. I have incurred over $100 of medical and treatment expense already.
