After just moving into a unit, with fresh carpet installation, my roommate noticed multiple bites and blood smears on his mattress almost immediately. Notified management, who scheduled pest control visit but didn't inform us that we would have to pay for part of it. When I called the pest control company to ask about the treatment options, he was extremely rude and refused to answer any of my questions. le treatments and we didn't want insecticide lingering in the carpet, but management refused to consider any other options like heat treatment (even though we were willing to pay for most of it). They also pretended that bed bugs were rare in the building and implied that infestation was our fault.

We have had our apartment treated and the bedbugs are not gone. The exterminator that the building hired didn't answer our questions and made us leave without giving us any follow-up instruction. We were given a pre-treatment piece of paper that said they would follow up within 10 days. 5 weeks later, he's coming back today for a second treatment. Building management claims we are the only unit in a building of hundreds. I don't buy it.
