I had a friend who lived in these so-called "Condos" (since none are owner-occupied, they are really low-rent substandard apartments) for a year. Starting in the summer of 2009, and continuing throughout the year into the summer of 2010, my friend's apartment was INFESTED with bed bugs: they seemed to come from the edge of the carpet which was up against the walls, but they later found their way into couches, beds, even on towels and clothing! I saw them there with my own eyes, and his roommate
got bitten so badly that it took months for them to heal.
Apparently, he wasn't the only one with these bugs, as neighbors had reported the same thing. You would see furniture being put out by the dumpsters (to be thrown away, not for someone else to take it) on a very regular basis. His landlord was not responsive to the problem.
Do NOT buy or rent a unit in the Golden Pines "Condos" off South Golden. Road! They may seem like a good deal, but the nightmare of having bedbugs isn't worth it.
