August 2012 - there is currently an active bed bug problem in this building. Management extremely responsive, but then again these are bed bugs we're talking about; not easy to eradicate especially with pesticides that Anchor uses. Renters beware...
2nd Floor Bed Bugs - August 2012 on 08/25/2012
August 2012 - I moved into this apartment complex about 5 months ago. I came home from vacation last week and slept in my bed for the first time in a week. Woke up covered in bites and discovered a bed bug under one corner of my mattress when I checked it out. Called management and they agreed to have Anchor Pest Control come in and treat the next day. They also explained that they would be checking the units around me to see if they have any signs of bed bugs, as well. Looks like they found bed
bugs in other units - when I came home from work yesterday, everyone on the second floor (including myself) had a letter in front of their door indicating that Anchor Pest Control will be back next week to treat our apartments for bed bugs. As a side note - my mattress and box spring were purchased new around 4 months ago, and my couch was purchased new around 8 months ago. None of my other furniture is second-hand. I think it's safe to say that I did not bring the bed bugs with me when I moved in. Obviously, this building has had problems with bed bugs in the past and will likely continue to have problems. On the plus side, the current management company, Cornerstone Apartment Services, has been great in working with me to get treatments for the problem, and are clearly interested in helping out those of us with bed bugs.
Just moved in a month ago. Found an adult bedbug today 11/27/11 crawling across my bed. I called management and he admitted they have been dealing with a problem and thought it was done. He mentioned no one has complained in over a month, whatever that means. It is obvious they only treat one apartment at a time which leads me to believe that they are just chasing bugs out of one apartment into the next. They are going to spray the day after next. I have not been bitten as far as I know but I mi
ght not be allergic to them. Ill report back withi an update. I hope they treat them right.
I have been here a year, and they have been spraying ever since I moved in in 2009. But... the bugs decided to come over just over a month ago. And when it finally happened there was so much chaos with miscommunication between management and the pest control it motivated me to move out. SO If you don't mind not getting notices every single time they spray and it being around you pet, then by all means, move in.

There is currently a bed bug outbreak at this location. The new management was tardy in response to the problem and the infestation has spread, affecting about 4-5 out of 16 apartments. Currently, management, who has not ever had to deal with bed bugs, is assuring tennants that he is doing "all he can" to completely eradicate the problem. He is considering more agressive approaches, such as caulking and sealing, which would be in addition to spraying. Rather than move out right away, I am gi
ving management a chance to go above and beyond here to completely get rid of the problem. I think they understand it is in their best interest to completely tackle the problem.
