I loved hearing someone call the owner of the property VERY old and bitter!! My boyfriend and I were managers of the apt building in 1990 thru I believe 1992.Frank was very mean back then, too. For instance, Frank wouldn't turn the water heat up in the winter. "People like to take cold showers in the winter". We turned it up w/o Frank's knowledge. Also, he didn't want the air on in the summer. We did anyway. There is quite a bit of stuff I remember from living in apt 105, and Frank's stingy ways.
On the day we were moving back to Florida, he told us he wanted to talk to us first, at "his" convenience. My BF told him we were leaving in an hour if he wanted to talk. An hour later here comes Frank. We just said see ya while F was still talking.

I find it interesting that "someone" spontaneously needed to respond to my post in 2011, if there aren't any concerns with this building.
I posted on this site in 2010, because that's when I became aware that this wonderful site was around & I find it extremely useful.
I do not/did not have ongoing bitterness -- I wanted to make sure that future potential tenants are aware of the lack of responsibility and erroneous & false logic utilized by the owner of this property. And now, it seems,
they are the ones who want to somehow discredit my valid concerns about living there.
I stand by what I previously posted and, to clarify, the previous tenant before me was male and when he moved out I was informed that the apartment was "cleaned" -- it was not and there were spider webs all around the ceiling by the windows. The "logic" is lacking in the statement that since the "windows have screens, spiders can't get in." Spiders come into people's homes all the time in various ways -- and these came through or around the screens on a daily basis.
I was also informed by the management that there were red spiders located outside the back door near a tree by a picnic table. So, they were aware of them.
I would not recommend this property to anyone, regardless of whether it has bugs now or not. It is owned by one of the rudest people I've ever come into contact with, not to mention irresponsible & ignorant -- so, believe me, the good riddance was mutual!

In respose to old 970 Pennsylvania anonymous (Brandy Walega) poster states in 2010 that back in August 2008 she encountered problems with bed bugs. The misunderstanding occured becuase after requesting information from the previous tennent in this apartment we were told that she had never experianced any problems with bed bugs or spiders. We of course came to the conclusion that the new party had brought the bugs from her furnishings or they had been transfered from the movers enclosed trucks. T
he windows have screens so the spiders could not enter. Her posting in 2010 two years after her residency indicates ongoing bitterness about not accepting her responsibility. We happily released her from her lease and felt good ridance.

Apt. #308
Moved in in August 2008 & moved out November 2008.
Living in this unit was terrible -- it began with tiny red biting spiders in the living room and progressed to larger white spiders that ca,me in from the trees growing up against the windows (which the apartment owner & manager repeatedly denied--but after a month they finally began spraying for the spiders.)
Then came the bedbugs...Sept - Nov.
The management refused to admit a problem and purchased some supplies, but would not ta
ke any action to get rid of them. I had to be my own exterminator -- there ended up being so much chemical powder in that apartment that an Orkin man refused to enter at one point & said that if I would have had plants or animals they would die. (Luckily, I did not.)
The owner of the building was (still is?) a VERY old & irritable man who actually suggested that I burn my mattress! I informed him that this was illegal and highly toxic, but he didn't care.
The best thing about this place was leaving. It looks good from the outside & on initial inspection -- so I hope whomever lives there doesn't get sick from any residual chemicals or can benefit from the 'nuclear winter' that occurred there and hopefully none of the pests return.
