While I respect the purpose of your website, empowering the public with information concerning bed bugs, I must say that this report was made falsely. There are several aspects to her testimonial that were untrue.
Due to the specification of her apartment number in the report, we have exact knowledge and records regarding this particular case.
The previous residents of her unit did not report any dealings with bed bugs during their two year residency. While we do admit that she ha
d bed bugs, due to our extensive inspections beforehand, we are certain that the unit did not have this problem when she moved in. Furthermore, she has also admitted to purchasing used items from a thrift shop, which could be responsible for bringing the parasites to her home.
Another inaccuracy I would like to address was the fact that we did allow her out of her lease. After meeting with the resident, we allowed her to break her agreement with us. We also refunded 100% of all previous rent payments and 100% of her security deposit.
Dealing with her case, we involved every member of our management team, including our regional manager which works from Arizona. We strived to handle this matter with the upmost sympathy and service. We even paid our professional, accredited pest control company, California American Exterminators, to administer a three step treatment to eliminate the problem completely at our expense.
While bed bugs are a serious matter, we did everything in our power and resources to remedy her problem. I would like to request the removal of this report from your site, due to the inaccurate portrayal of our community. Although her experience is unfortunate, it is unfair to stigmatize our entire community, Briarwood Apartments, on the basis of hearsay. We have documents and evidence to support the actions made on our behalf.
