On June 19th I checked into the Renaissance LA Airport Hotel at 9620 Airport Blvd. I checked into room 331 and found everything to be very comfortable. It was a short night and my alarm went off at 4:30 a.m. and when I turned the lamp on next to the bed, that's when I found multiple bed bugs crawling around my head and neck area. I immediately jumped out of bed and killed the ones I saw and took one of the dead bed bugs down to the front desk. The front desk clerk never issued and apology but to
ok the bed bug stating they would have to show the exterminator and then told me to have a nice day. I have pictures to prove the incident but the hotel has been very difficult to deal with. At first they wouldn't call me back so I called the LA County Health Dept. and got them involved. The hotel called me back after multiple attempts on my part and said they did in fact find bed bugs and would pass me onto their claims department. Claims said they would reimburse me for all items I had to throw out and that was the last I heard from them. I called the Health Dept. and they said they got there too late b.c once they arrived the room had been vacated and stipped of all furniture and he was then told there were never any bed bugs found, so they have changed their story since clearing the room. They are pushing this under the rug and basically calling me a liar but I have pictures of my encounter and I encourage you to stear clear of all Marriot's period. After having been a loyal customer for years they are treating me terrible and denying any infestation ever existed. I just am thankful that I found the bed bugs as aweful as it was b/c if I had brought these things home it would have been far more difficult to deal with than terrible management and the replacement of $1000 worth of personal affects would have been far greater. I realize these things are starting to spread even to the nicest hotels but when management doesn't do the right thing it's even more emotionally upsetting than just having had them crawling all over you in bed which is bad enough.
