Unit 504 - Got bedbugs this week, am moving out. Laundered everything. At first thought it was spider bite, then I continued getting bitten (bites swelling up during the following days at work, from bites the night before). Doctor told me he thought it was bed bugs. Did the research. Sure enough.

I am MARK was the tenant in 502.
I never wrote the instalment that says:
I moved out of #502 in February. What The Owners say is true - my landlord and the Property Management Company took a very aggressive approach to solving the problem of the bed bugs,
once I informed them of it. Not only was there a major cleanup but the owner totally renovated the unit with a new bathroom, kitchen cabinets, appliances and plumbing. The old carpet was
ripped out and replaced with new top of the line l
aminate flooring and tiles. The entire unit has been painted. When I heard about the fantastic
job being done on the unit, I asked if I could move back in, but I was given an emphatic no.
This is outrageous!!!!!!!
How dare you write as though I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am furious!
The owners did spray the unit 6 times... and they did do the renos. BUT I never wrote the above installment. I moved out in the end because I was not going to to live where I was not sure the bed bugs were gone!

The bedbug problem has been solved by management. Property management hired a pesticide company on behalf of the owners at a cost of hundreds of dollars. The owner of #502 removed the tenant suspected of bringing the bed bugs into the building. The tenant had travelled to exotic countries. The owner spent thousands of dollars cleaning out the suite and completely renovating it. The result is a unit that is brand new.

The recent infestation in #502 has resulted in an organizational effort on the part of no less than 25 occupants, both leaseholders and tenants who've agreed to actively proceed towards developing a more appropriate protocol for both prevention and treatment for bedbugs within our building.

I live in apartment 502. Although I told the inspector in October that I had found 2 bed bugs in my apartment he said I was bed bug free. Here I am in Februaury and my place is crawling with bed bugs!
If the building managment had done what they were supposed to in October (sprayed all the apartments around 503) The problem would have more than likely been resolved.
The other day the tenant in 504 came to my apartment a showed me bed bug she found in her place. Again, she was inspected on
Thursday January, 28th and told she was bed bug free (even though she found a bed bug 2 days earlier). Her place needs to be sprayed too!!!!
I am sooooooooooooooo angry with how this is being dealt with I want to puke.
The only way to deal with this problem is a full building inspection!
I could go on for hours!
This is a reeeeeeeeeeeal pain in the ass!

Oct 10/09 Bedbug infestation was discovered in unit #503 and reported to Building Mgr Tues, Oct 13th.His direction was that the unit resident simply had to call any pest control Co and arrange extermination. He attempted to reassure that this procedure had been effective in a number of units during his tenure as Mgr. Only with the insistence of #503 did he finally arrange an extermination of #503 in 2 parts and include inspections of units above and below and adjacent. No treatments were offer
ed to these same units who would be considered at risk.
#503 chose to alert the units at risk to ensure they were advised in a timely fashion. As a result of that contact it came to light that #403 directly below #503 had been infested at an earlier , recent date but had been unsuccessful in getting any attention, let alone co operation, from the Property Mgr or Pacific Quorum Management! No one returned her repeated calls to both parties for help and advice. She states that she got the bugs from #402
adjacent to her and with whom she shares a bedroom wall.
Interestingly, the Building Mgr knew this when approached by #503 a few weeks later but he still thought it appropriate to leave extermination to the affected resident and only to the single unit!
#503 has emailed twice to the Property Management Co and has not received a reply (now 11 days later).
